Essence Make It Golden. The close-up shows 2 coats on a naked nail. It's not hard to get the glitter out of the bottle, you do have to be carefully with placement though. If you hit the same spot with the brush twice, you'll drag along the big particles.
Below is 2 coats on a naked nail, 1 coat over Wet 'n Wild Black Crème, 1 coat over Essence Denim Wanted LE My Boyfriend's Jeans. As you can see this polish has micro-size glitter, along with 2 different sizes hexagon glitter.

Essence Hard To Resist. The close-up shows 2 coats. I've read on a blog someone got away with 1 coat but I think 2 is better, also because it has a wee bit jelly like consistency.
Below you can see it has a bit of that jelly finish, it shows a little bit of VNL. In real life it doesn't show VNL but it has great depth to it. Removal wasn't hard, the shimmer particles don't get stuck. I would recommend double basecoat for this one, I had smurf fingers when removing this, it stained my skin pretty bad.

Essence In Style. It's a gorgeous dirty polish that covers in 2 coats. With dirty I mean the following: the base of this polish is charcoal. You'll only see it very well when applying the first layer but it gives this polish a muted or murky feel.
The shimmer has green and blue to it, and I really really like this. It's not streaky and doesn't drag so that's good!

This one had the best shine to it from all I've swatched so far, and with 2 coats you are good to go.

I used 3 coats since it was rather sheer. Removal wasn't too much of a hassle because I painted 3 nails, snapped the pictures and took it off but a full manicure would require some work I think. Maybe I'll try this one over black.
Essence Be Optimistic! This is 1 coat. It;s a gorgeous burned orange copper shimmer that flows easily on the nail. I think this may be dupish for OPI Take The Stage, however that last one needs 2 coats so this one does better :).
When applying it may look like you'll get terrible brushstrokes, but when it dries the brushstrokes disappear. Very appropriate color for fall this one!

I do think it's good this only takes 2 coats for good coverage. The flecks could have been bigger, though.

Compared to Make It Golden this one was a bit more trouble to get on the nail. The large hexagon pieces won't come out very easily so that's a bit of a bummer.
Below you see 3 coats on a naked nail, 1 coat over Wet 'n Wild Black Crème and 1 coat over Manhattan 65K.

I hope so too! It is pretty new here so it'll probably take some time for them to come to Ulta though :)
ReplyDeleteWow I love these! I hope I can find them on the Ulta website because I think I want all of them, haha!
ReplyDeleteDo you have any access to Essence?
ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure they will, eventually :).
ReplyDeleteBut the not purple glitter still is pretty even though it is pink!
ReplyDeleteSo jealous that you have these new colours!
ReplyDeleteOoh, some nice ones in there! I hope they send them over here, too.
ReplyDeleteOhhh, come on, not pink! I was sure it was purple. :( The glittery one I mean. I love the orange one though, I'll have to get it!

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh!!!!!!! Thanks so much for swatching these! I love In Style and Princess Prunella most! And I can't wait to see the purple glitter!
ReplyDeleteI really like Rich and Pretty! I'm a little bummed that the gold glitter has a shimmery base. I was hoping it would be like Sally Hansen Set the Stage, gold hexes in a clear base. It's still pretty, though! I'm excited to see the purple glitter.
ReplyDeleteGold one is peeeeeeerfect and the purple one! Others... Meh. :D
ReplyDeleteOh, you're awesome to put this on your blog already! I think I'm going to need In Style for sure, can't wait to see the purple glitter too!
