The Bloglight - Samarium's Swatches

Hey there lovelies! How have you been? I am doing great since this Wednesday is my Thursday, a.k.a. Friday I have a day off! I am going to sleep in, go to the city by myself, drink some coffe, buy some books and just do what I want to! Including some shopping for the lovely Rie.

Does anyone have some book recommendations? I am about to finish the 3d part of The Hunger Games, already read Twilight, anything in that category I should read?

Now, for the true post part. You are finding yourself in another version of The Bloglight and I don't believe this girl needs my advertisement for more followers (she has more than me!) but this is also about the blogs I personally love and want to share with you. So give it up for Samarium's Swatches! If you do not follow her already please make sure you go ahead and do so ;). She has the cutest daughter by the way.

  3. So I refuse to read the Twilight series, but I am a HUGE HG fan. I am currently reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone (about 2/3rds done). It is very entertaining and has some fun fantasy to it. Definitely recommend this far into the book.

  7. Why are you refusing to read them? The book you are referring to seems to be only available in English, so maybe I'll wait and see if it will be translated! I like reading in Dutch a bit better. Thanks for the recommendation though!

  10. It is a long story, but I really don't like the kind of themes that are glorified in the Twilight books - not the vampire stuff (that is just good gothic fun) but a lot of things that are considered romantic in the books are actually symptoms of abuse in the real world. Many of my adult girl friends love the books, but I read a chapter or two of the first one and hated it. I also think that it sends really poor messages to younger women who may not understand some of the overtones and themes.
