A jelly flaky sandwich

Hi there lovelies! How are you today? Looks like the good Spring weather has come to an end here in Holland, it will be colder and rainy the coming days - I hate rain!

The manicure I am showing you isn't very color accurate, the last picture shows the true color. It was however very pretty and made up with 3 different polishes.

I started with 1 careful, thickish coat of Essence I Want That!, followed by 2 coats of the Essence Nail Art Special Effect Topper Night in Vegas, finished with one careful thin coat of OPI Too Hot Pink Too Hold Em. The result was a jelly flaky sandwich that I really liked! The flakies where there, but not too obvious and in your face.

What are your favorite jellies for layering like this?

  1. It looks pretty. I have never done this kind of layering.

  4. I am loving jelly sandwich look. We don't have Essence here in the states, but I can figure something to do the flakie part of this with. I do like a # of those shades from the OPI Texas collection - the first of the OPI releases  called sorbets vs. jelly. They work well for jelly sandwiches. We need more good sorbet/jelly formulas out there. This looks lovely. And as for the rain - send it our way.  I live in Central Calif. and we are way way under what we normally get rain wise. It's going to be a huge risky summer fire season here and water rationing. I cannot recall ever a winter with such little rainfall. We normally get 26" and had had less than 9" this winter.

  5. I found and bought that topper too, and I was just wondering about the fact I think it's the same that came out with the Re-Mix Your Style TE (Wake Up In Vegas) with the name changed.
But...since I only saw swatches about Wake Up In Vegas and only own Night In Vegas, mine is just a thought. Do you have both, by any chance?

    Btw, this mani is great!

  6.   I left you a note under a blog on adding to your Kalidoscope collection you wrote last fall when you wrote of finding a few from a etailer that took forever to get your account approved. I forgot the date or I would give it to you here. You might want to look at it. I left you a special message there. Hugs!

  10. Thanks! That flakie is easily duped indeed, especially with all the stuff available in the US! Yes they work well indeed especially since the apply pretty even. Sometimes when a jelly applies streaky it won't work for looks like these.

Ooh you can have at anytime! We normally have enough rain to prevent us for big fires - and then some more.
