Yaaaay OPI Black Spotted. This awesome lacquer was released exclusively as part of the OPI Spiderman collection, being the replacement for the green shatter. It was said to be a French exclusive but now it turns out to be more of a Sephora Europe exclusive as it has popped up in more and more Sephora´s. I bought 8 bottles of it this week to ship out to different addresses in America, Britain and Canada.
My bottle is from France though, it was shipped by a lovely girl I found through a comment on Fashion Polish. She kindly sent me three bottles, 1 for a friend, 1 is waiting the chance to shine in my upcoming giveaway (come on last 20 followers!) and 1 for my own use. I've tried it twice so far, once over Chanel Péridot (lovely!) and once over this manicure.
Now OPI Black Spotted doesn't play nice. You have to apply it super super thin, or you'll get no/ugly spots. If you apply it over a base that isn't completely dry (and touch dry really is not dry enough!) it crackles a bit too. If you spill too much on your skin you have to scrub it off with a lot of force. You have to be careful with applying topcoat and even with topcoat it wears off quickly. Good thing though it wears off "pretty". You'll notice it wears off but it doesn't chip so others don't know.
The effect? Worth it! So unique and lovely, and the effect is just so much fun to look at!

this is so pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteOh wow so pretty! I would love to have a bottle :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous combo! I really love the glitter tips.
ReplyDeleteGreat news! Maybe since it was distributed wider across Europe than just in France, OPI will eventually have it released as part of some Sephora by OPI line up sold in the US, Canada and other areas of the globe.
ReplyDeletePrachtig! Nu wil ik spotted nog meer!
ReplyDeleteLove it over the red!! Sounds like a lot of work to get it on right though.
