Hi girls! Last Friday I wanted to paint my nails, but I had just cut them short (sometimes I get really tired with my nails and just want them as short as possible) and was feeling totally uninspired. I asked some friends what I should do and the lovely Loqi said "a dotticure" . I had never done dots before.
So, I wanted to do dots! I used 2 coats of $OPI XOX Betsey as my base color it is such a nice pinkish nude that somehow gives me the feel of porcelain nails. I used Sinful Colors Athens, In The Mist and China Glaze 2030 for the dots. I used one size dotting tool, to keep it a bit easier for myself. I just dabbed some polish blobs on the metal backing of a stamping plate, that worked very well for me! In the past I never really knew how to get the polish on the dotting tool...
Hope you like the outcome and I am sure doing more dotticures in the future!

Love the nude pink!
ReplyDeleteWould be nice with more pictures of the whole mani though... ;)
I love the simplicity of this! And I know what you mean about just wanting to cut your nails short. I used to maintain my nails to the perfect length and shape, but now I just chop it off. Haha ^^
ReplyDeleteDots are fun, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteLove this! Looks great :)
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you haven't done dots before! This SOPI is on clearance at my local Sephora, and I really resisted the urge to buy it and put it down. But damn, the feeling is back again! I love nudes like this, with that pinky undertone to it.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! I reeealllyyy love that soft nude base!
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right, I am trying to work on other poses for when I have accent nails, because you just don't get the whole picture now :(.
ReplyDeleteThanks Liz :). Well I don't always chop them off, but sometimes they are just.. anooying. They don't shape like I want too, the same with your hair sometimes when it doesn't do what you want :P.
ReplyDeleteThey are!
ReplyDeleteThanks :)!
ReplyDeleteI know right? I had these dotting tools for ages but just never really tried them. Now I can't stop using them.
ReplyDeleteI bought it on clearance too and it is REALLY worth it. It applies easy and looks so pretty!
Thank you Jamie, I do too :).
