Jelly sandwich using HARE Dog Day Dream

Hi loves! Today I have a post inspired by Salla from OMG! Polish 'em!. She does these amazing jelly sandwiches using multiple polishes which give the most amazing results when combined, and I wanted to try a more complex sandwich too. So, instead of just layering glitter between a jelly, I now used 2 polishes in between :P. Wild or what?

I started with an opaque base using 2 coats of Teeez Femme Fatale (the creme version). After that felt dry to touch I added a coat of HARE Dog Day Dream. I really love this one and it is very versatile too! You can build it up, layer it, sandwich it and it always looks pretty. Over the glitter I used a thin coat of CND Copper Shimmer. At this point it looked ugly as the copper shimmer kinda overpowers it, but how I intended to use it I knew it would come around. So, another coat of HARE dog Day Dream on top of the CND Copper Shimmer, and it looked pretty again. And to finish it off and to be able to call it a proper jelly sandwich, I topped it of with OPI Houston We've Got A Purple!

The CND Copper Shimmer peeked through the glitter in the HARE polish, and the extra layer of litter beneath it gave it great depth. I love jelly sandwiches!

  2. Good tip - I have some of the CND Effects that when I get them on, they do over-power the shade under them. I will keep in mind trying to use those CND's that do that with a base that is translucent enough to do another coat over it to tone down the 'effect' from the CND.

  3. Looks great! Its nice how it doesn't look like there are 8 coats of polish... Got to get better at that myself.

  4. This looks awesome! But what is it, 6 coats of polish? Plus base and topcoat? How is that not totally thick?!? Well whatever, it looks great!

  6. Yes it works great! The shimmer are pretty opaque so this is a great way to wear them :).

  7. Yes letting it get a good dry in between really helps for the thickness :). And making sure you don't apply to thick!

  8. Thanks Angie! Just let the layers dry properly in between (it does take some time though) makes them settle better. Also applying thin and even helps :).
