OPI I Eat Mainly Lobster

When I ordered a few polishes from OPI Skyfall, I needed to fill up my box so shipping wouldn't be overly expensive (see what I did there? Spent more to save money... ;)). I wanted to order only OPI because well, I want to have a full drawer haha. Superficial or what?

I added 2 jellies, and also OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, but I needed 1 more polish to fill the last gap. Luckily I remembered this gorgeous polish Demelza showed us a few months back. I really liked the brightness and shimmer in this polish so I got it too.

How glad am I that I got this polish! OPI I Eat Mainly Lobster was part of the Touring America collection for Fall 2011. It's a bright coral with lovely shimmer that plays hide and seek, but the best part is this color suits me well! Peachy and coral tones always tend to make me look like I'm dead, so it's nice to have some of these for next Summer.

Application wasn't great, it has that weird formula more polishes in this collection suffered from: pigmented yet patchy, and streaky at the first coat. I left it at 2 but in daylight I found out it might have needed 3 to be perfect.

Do you own this polish? And how do you experience formula with polishes from this collection?

  1. Glad to know I am not the only one who ups the shopping cart with product so as to get the best deal in shipping possible! This is a nice color to pull out for fall - esp since we are wearing a lot more color this fall (even tons of pink this fall) in clothing. I did not wear this one at all when I bought it last fall. It's still in my untrieds other than a little spot on a clean sheet of paper I do with most new incoming polishes. My Boyfriend Scales Walls was a good choice too - it's a great base alternative to optic white and not chalky looking which is rare for something that has so much white in the base color.

  2. Oh as far as finish on the formulas from the fall 2011 OPI road collection - the ones I wore were all different...Roadhouse Blues is great formula wise. My Address is Hollywood was OK for a pink shimmer - I did use 2 coats of it. The 2 greens in the collection looked horrible on me and I gave them away. This one you got looked a lot like Are We There Yet? but not really - just too many in that collection were odd - too many close to similar shades and not one good red at all. We were into the fugly colors last fall in polish land and this OPI collection did not disappoint in that area - it was a big old fail for me. This one you got and Road House Blues are the only 2 I think I probably will keep for any time past this fall now.

  5. This is one of my favorite polishes from last year! You know I love my shimmery corals! I don't remember mine having a weird formula though. Hmm..

  8. Haha I think we all do that from time to time ;). Yes this color does compliment the burgundy and green tones that seem popular. And yes I am very curious about My Boyfriend Scales Walls :).
