OPI Vampsterdam

Hi loves! Enjoyed your weekend? I know I did! We visited family yesterday in Amsterdam, my boyfriends niece and her boyfriend. We hadn't seen their vacation photo's yet and they hadn't seen ours, so it was time for some food and photo's! In the afternoon we also went to the P.C. Hoofstraat which is known for the expensive shops.

Now I ain't no rich girl, but my boyfriend agreed on (partially) buying me a Michael Kors bag for my upcoming birthday. Because it is such a ridiculous present I am paying part of it myself. So, we went to the Michael Kors store to pick it out! Now I only have to wait 4 whole weeks to use it...

Anyway, let's take a look at some polish, right? I am showing you OPI Vampsterdam, which was released as part of the OPI Holland collection for Spring this year. This color stood out because it is very dark and vampy, not really a color you'd expect for Spring. It didn't get much love from most nailjunkies as it is pretty frosty. It does get better with topcoat though and somehow I quite like this color.

It applied okay, you have to be careful to let the coats dry in between or it'll drag really bad. These pictures are without topcoat so it is looking more frosty than it usually does.

Do you own OPI Vampsterdam? What do you think about the frosty look?

  3. Have this one and it's a boarder line for me due to as you said the almost but not quite frosty look it has. I was surprised when it arrived as I was not thinking it would be that finish. What I have done with it usually is wear a topper over it like one of my CND Effects or a couple of the summer 2010 scented Revlon Fizzes I like - there is a pink grapefruit one and one in light blue I think it's called Pina Colada - those toppers take down the frost look on this one (and a few others I have like it but only add a hint of a shimmer into it, esp if I mix the two in the 2nd coating. It's one that has grown on me this fall. I think when it came out, it was too dark for me to think of spring and I was so into orange right then with all the tangerine tango stuff going on and my already big love affair with good oranges (anything that is not what I called crayola or Halloween orange that is). When I got this one I got Roll In the Hauge at the same time and it was nearly impossible for about 4 weeks for me to want to wear anything but that bright great saturated orange shade out of the Holland Collection.

  6. What CND Effect do you pair with it usually? I am showing this later on again topped with something special - my homemade 24k gold topcoat!

Yes the orange they released was great, even though I don't like orange!
