a england Ophelia

Hi loves! How are you doing this Tuesday? Getting through the week so far? I am looking forward to some time off, next week Friday is my first day of vacation and I have to start working again 2nd January. That means lots of time to do my end of year lists! What would you like to see?

Today's post is about the last Gothic Beauty I got, Ophelia. She is the purple toned Goth and this one was the most shy in the shimmer part. I might try the swipe technique with this one, wiping of a bit of the black top with a q-tip with a bit of acetone. It shows the sparkle so much better, Pshiiit showed it here.

I used 2 coats of this dark dark beauty and even though it didn't show the sparkle at all in dim lighting, I still liked it because apparently all I like lately seems to be dark dark colors haha.

Have you ever tried bringing out the shimmer better by swiping the surface?

  1. Oh the swiping technique sounds very interesting. I usually steer clear of blackened colors like this because I want to see all of the shimmer! Good to know!

  3. I've never heard of the swipe technique before, but it makes sense with a shy shimmer like this. It sure is pretty though!

  4. I have noticed swiping when removing my nailpolish, so it makes sense! I have never tried it when applying tho, maybe I will soon!

  8. Thanks Angie! It is, but if that shimmer would pop more it'd be even more perfect.

  10. Yes topcoat is very necessary with the Gothic Beauties, but a little swipe before sealing might be even more awesome :D!
