China Glaze Smoke & Ashes

So, how could I have though I did not need this polish? I am glad Elizabeth forced me to go buy her a polish and well, I can't buy just 1, it's store policy! You really have to pick 3 at least :D! I've seen gorgeous swatches of this, though it seems there is the sparkly and non sparkly version. I think I have a good bottle because the glassflecks are visible in real life. They aren't overpowering or anything, kinda shy actually, but they are there!

This is China Glaze Smoke & Ashes, part of the Capitol Colours (Hunger Games) collection China Glaze did this year. It's a very very dark inky base and contains lots of gorgeous blue, teal and green glassflecks. It applies easy in 2 coats and cleanup wasn't too bad for such a dark color!

I hope you like it, what was your favorite from this collection?

  2. I love to enable & I love this colour. I need to wear mine more. I want try layering it over a bright green, I feel it might bring out the colours more.

  3. Surprised that you found anywhere to buy this. I thought ChG closed out the HG collection mid summer at all retail. The only place I have to buy ChG is a Sally's. I thought when the HG collection came out, all the shades except for Riviting were fall/winter shades. I bought a # of them including this - then we had the hottest longest fall ever. It only turned cool mid Dec finally for good. I am looking fwd to getting out the shades I felt were fall/winter like after holiday. Since I was not a HG fan, I was not eating up everything HG. I think those who are HG fans wore these shades soon as they came out. I was rocking spring shades and looking forward to all the neons that where such a hit last summer (again).

  6. Yes we have a wholesale company nearby that sales China Glaze. They aren't cheap (imported so I usually buy online) but they do have stock left of stuff that isn't that easily found anymore. Last summer there were still some LOL and IDK to be found there (why I didn't buy those I'll never understand).

Yes most colors were most suitable for fall indeed - though I am a fan of dark colors all year long. I did enjoy the books and the first movie but somehow this collection didn't really speak to me.

  7. I bought it because I saw some pics on the internet (and didn't read any review =.=", shame on me) and I thought it was black base with silver flecks. I opened my package and it was green! Tons of green!!!
And then I wore it and it was wonderful....Blue/green/gold flecks...Awwww, for this time I did it well :D
