Deborah's manicure - Yellow splatter
It turned out awful but I didn't have time nor ideas to do something else. I hate yellow nails! My naked nails are yellow, maybe I just should have showed them.
This is 2 coats of Essence Got a Secret (still love this, light and soft and perfect) and after it dried I used H&M Going Bananas to do a splatter. There is green shimmer in the yellow and it stuck all over my nails after trying to remove the excess.
Hope you like it better than I did, luckily the 2 shitty colors (yellow and orange) are done now so onto more pretty challenges!
Hey everybody! Like with orange, I do not have a lot of yellow polishes. Not because I don't like yellow, but there just aren't that many different yellow polishes out there I think. But that doesn't matter, because I had the perfect colour for what I had in mind: Bright yellow with black strings. I have never done a sugar spun manicure before and what better reason to try it out than a nail art challenge!
I first painted my nails with a bright yellow from Claires (no name, just a number, but the label was torn, so I don't know which one). When that had dried I put some black polish (A-england Camelot) on a piece of paper and stirred with a toothpick until it was thick enough to form strings. I then pulled the polish strings over my nails, had a lot of clean-up to do, and voilà. I only used a very thin layer of topcoat (otherwise the thick threads would take ages to dry) because I really like the texture you get with this technique.
I really love how this turned out! So I definitely will try this technique more often!
