Magic Twin Post - Multichrome Gradient!

Hi loves! Today is a very special day - I am doing a twin post with my girl Angie! Please be sure to follow her, she has the loveliest nails (and if you also go follow her on Instagram, the cutest doggie too!). When she commented on this post about I♥NP Birefringence saying I should try a multichrome gradient because she tried one and it was epic, I immediately suggested to do a twin post. So here it is!

Now, let me start by saying that while this looks nice and all, you might wonder if I actually did a gradient. Yeah, I picked 2 shades that were so close together after sponging, the gradient is kinda invisible. I could spy it better in real life, but photographing purples always is a hard task and this didn't help!

I started with 2 coats of I♥NP Birefringence on my nails, except for my pinky (well I did but the stupid sponge got stuck in the gradient and I had to remove it and then just painted it with 2 coats of I♥NP Cygnus Loop..), and after it dried I used Cygnus Loop for the gradient. It took around 4 sponge sessions to let the gradient show up. Clean up was a total bish with all the sparkle everywhere! But it did smooth out beautifully with just 1 layer of topcoat :-).

I can't wait to see what Angie created, hopefully her multichrome gradient will shop up better! I now for sure I'll be trying this again in the future. Have you ever tried a multichrome gradient?

  1. I can really see the gradient in the last photo, your nails are so pretty. A beautiful mani!x

  2. Well, if they have different enough color shifts, the gradient would be more noticeable at different angles, right? I think it looks beautiful either way. My order just came in today!!

  3. I'm so sad your didn't work out well! And that it took 4 sponging sessions! My nail prisms are super sheer, and I only needed one! Such a bummer! Course I haven't tried it with other polishes, so I wonder if I would have a hard time with other polishes.

Anyways, it looks beautiful regardless, and the first couple of pics I can kinda see it!

And thanks for the Harvey shout out! He's already got such a large fan club! : )

  6. Yeah, only issue is those color shifts are terrible to capture - my camera always sees something different than I see. Thanks though! Hope you enjoy them :).

  7. I should have grabbed more different colors I think, but I still had fun! And Harvey ♥ he deserves his own Instagram account I think!

I can see your gradient on the last picture. No, but I'm thinking about trying it now. Good idea! But it must be difficult to find to multichromes that are not too different and not too similar.
