Black & White gradient

Hi loves! How are you doing? Did anything fun this weekend? I worked my but off to have the blog all settled for my small leave today (I am already in Poland as this post goes live!).

Today I have for you a very bold gradient manicure going from white to black! I was inspired after seeing this gorgeous manicure from Kristin (Ermahgerd Perlish) to do a gradient like this. Unfortunately I do not own that cool glitter topper (but I might get it when the next paycheck comes in) but I still enjoyed this look without it :-).

My base is 2 coats of Hema 809. It applied okay, if you do 2 thicker coats it levels out nicely and opaque. After it dried I used a make up sponge and a england Camelot to create the gradient. I always follow this technique to create my gradient and with the black & white I got a nice bit of grey in between too!

Using one coat of topcoat to create a shiny finish, I really enjoyed this look. Gradients are a bit of work with clean up (I like to use q tips with a flat part, like these, to do the most of my clean up) but so worth the effort!

What do you think of this combo? Ever tried a bold gradient like this? Tell me in the comments!

  4. Gorgeous! I've wanted to try some bolder gradients, they look so impressive when done right. I'm not the best at any gradient effect though XP

  7. This looks great!

I did a black and white gradient myself a few weeks ago, I was surprised how easy it was - and I really enjoyed wearing it. I put white glitter on the black end and black glitter on the white end of mine!
