Hi loves! I discovered MoYou London plates a while back and got in touch with them about press releases and such. They kindly offered me 2 plates for review and the best part was I got to choose them myself! I went for Sailor 05 (12 XL images) and Suki 08 (a full image plate).
MoYou London is a nail art company and they offer these beautiful rectangle image plates. There are 3 variations available:
[*] Regular sized images, each plate holds 18 full nail designs or multiple smaller images, sometimes combined with full nail designs. The size of a full nail design is 1,5 x 1,2 cm.
[*] XL sized images, each plate holds 12 full nail designs, a lot of designs from the regular sized plates are also available in the XL version. The size of a full nail design is 2,1 x 1,5 cm.
[*] Full image plates, these image plates are like a piece of art and every bit is usable as a stamp, you just have to pick something you like!
Because I've been having some issues getting a full sized nail design from Bundle Monster to fit my thumbs, I figured the XL plates would be my way to go. I also wanted to try a full image plate to see how it'd work.
Each plate comes in a very cute cardboard sleeve, and each collection has it's own muse that you'll find on the packaging. The cardboard sleeve also has instructions on the back. The plates are on a white plastic base that makes them easier to handle and safe to hold.
I also received a stamper from MoYou London and am I happy with it! It's squishy but not sticky - I can clean it with acetone and it won't be harmed by it. The squishy pad allows me to finally stamp my full nail without having any gaps (without any extra effort) and it picks up the image really good too!
I created 2 manicures for you, one with the Sailor plate and one with the Suki plate. I am so happy I saw this video from Marta because I wasn't sure how to approach the Suki plate. If you don't have any kind of barrier you'll pick up designs you don't want to but taping it off or something didn't sound great either. I actually picked up the image while using my own little template (polish - scrape as usual, place template, pick up image through template). Let's take a look, shall we?
First up is a combination of Kiko Dark Violet and Color Club Eternal Beauty. WOW at stamping with that Color Club! I'll definitely try that more often. The image I used is from the Sailor 05 plate and it's a lovely delicate pattern, almost wallpaper/baroque looking. At first I had to get used to the stamper so that's why it's slightly crooked on my ring and middle finger (I always start with those nails when stamping). The image transferred easily and because these are etched quite deep the polish you use doesn't dry too quickly. I loved the holo flash and the stamping design.
Next up is a combination of Dior Purple Mix and OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest. The image is the swirly circle pattern from Suki 08. As I said I wasn't sure how to approach this plate but if you use a little template made from cardboard or paper it works very well! Just cut the template a bit bigger than your actual nail so you have some room to spare :-). I reeeeeally love this image LOL and it'll be featured more than once over the coming time I think!
