31 Day Nail Art Challenge - Inspired by a song!

Deborah's manicure - Such Great Heights by The Postal Service

I am thinking it's a sign
That the freckles in our eyes
Are mirror images and when
We kiss they're perfectly aligned

And I have to speculate
That God himself did make
Us into corresponding shapes
Like puzzle pieces from the clay

Hi loves! I am editing this post while Loqi has prepared her bit already, and just like her I also was scared a bit by the "Inspired by" challenges. I am just not that creative haha! But, when I was checking my Last.fm profile to see what my favorite songs actually are, I decided I could use some phrases from Such Great Heights by The Postal Service. I really love The Postal Service!

I started with a base of Catrice Discreet (2 coats) on my index and pinky, and Zinzi Fab in Jade (3 coats) on my middle and ring finger. After it dried, I used acrylic paint to create the eye on my index, China Glaze Passion for Petals for the puzzle pieces (paint 2 squares and use a dotting tool and the 2 colors you have on your nails to make it a puzzle piece shape), and acrylic paint + Catrice In The Bronx for the "freckles" on my pinky!

Even though the eye didn't came out great, I still like the fact I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried something I hadn't done before!

What is your favorite song? And how do you like my interpretation of this song from The Postal Service?

Loqi's manicure - Kiss from a rose by Seal

I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the grey.
The more I get of you,
The stranger it feels, yeah.
And now that your rose is in bloom.
A light hits the gloom on the grey.

Hi guys! I have been dreading the 'inspired by a ...' challenges for a while. It's pretty hard to come up with ideas for these concepts that are doable on your nails. However this one was quite easy for me. I just picked one of my favourite songs of all time: Kiss from a rose, by Seal. I took the lyrics quite literally for this manicure and that gave me some fun stamping images to work with.

First I painted my nails black and grey (Wet 'n wild Black crème and Color club Wild orchid) to represent the 'gloom and grey' of the song (some people think he sings 'grave', I disagree, but even if he does the grey still works well). After that was dry I used Kiko 238 Martha red to stamp the roses and kisses. The patterns are from bm323 and bm02.

I actually wore this manicure untill it chipped (I almost never do), I liked it so much. I think I'll do a full roses on grey manicure in the future, that image is just lovely. I hope you guys like it and see you next week!

Stay tuned for challenge day 23: Inspired by a movie!
