China Glaze Short & Sassy topped with CND Crimson Sparkle

Hi loves! How are you doing? I've put up our little Christmas tree this afternoon, I always love that time of year when the house is lit with small twinkly lights ♥ so cozy!

Today I have a gorgeous manicure to show you, that I wore earlier this week. I started with a base of China Glaze Short & Sassy, which was released a few years ago (Fall '09) as part of the Retro Diva collection. I own 3 polishes from that collection: this beauty, Stroll and Stella. I used to own Skate Night too but thought it was a bit too similar to others in my collection :-).

Short & Sassy is a gorgeous, vampy, black around the edges type of shimmer. I really like shades like these this time of year. Application is a little tricky at first as it is quite thin, but it covers completely at the second coat.

Because I received a new bottle of CND Crimson Sparkle (my other bottle had a bad closing cap, so it evaporated almost completely..) I figured it might be fun to wear over the China Glaze. I used one easy coat of it. Topped with some topcoat I had a gorgeous, sparkly result!

What do you think of this combination? And do you own any polishes from the China Glaze Retro Diva collection?

  1. Hi, I'm coming via the WPNFF link-up. I've been following your blog for a good long while, and I love it. You have a clear "brand", and your blog flows with it. Your writing is good, and I love your pictures. I'm really jealous of your macro shots!

  7. Thanks Amanda! It could be, like @Gnarly Gnails mentioned, that it hasn't thickened enough yet. The other bottle I have has become SUPER thick and opaque.

  8. Could be indeed, didn't even think of that! Might let it sit for a few hours with the cap a bit loosened..
