Hi loves! Ready for some.. weird polishes :-P? The China Glaze Crinkle Chrome collection surely got attention when released, and most of it has not been positive. The combination of the chrome finish and the added texture didn't please everyone and I'll admit I wasn't sold on the idea either. But, when putting these on, I was fascinated. I am still not the biggest fan, but I can't say I hate them either! So, ready to take a look?
First, let's talk about the formula, since it was identical for all 3 shades. These are extremely pigmented. Like, you don't even have to be careful one-coaters. The pigment is so amazing I kinda wish they'd be available in non texture too as stamping would be perfect with these! They applied very easy, and the texture is easy to spot, especially the barglitter. You don't want to a second coat as it might clump together and then the effect gets uglier in my opinion.
Removal was easy but I didn't let them harden - just push down a soaked cotton pad and wait a minute or so, it'll slide off your nail easily. Since you only need 1 coat and no topcoat these are done quickly.
Aluminate is a silver polish. Just a straight up silver, nothing special about that, but I think it combines best with the texture effect. Very futuristic.
Crush, Crush Baby is a lavender shade. I love the softness of this one combined with the chrome finish.
Don't Be Foiled is a soft teal color. I thought I would love this the most but I prefer Crush, Crush Baby over this one!
That's it, my 3 picks from the Crinkle Chrome collection! I must say I was more impressed with these than I would have thought before getting them, but I don't feel the need to own the other 3.
What do you think of this collection? And if you had to pick one, which one would be your choice?
These sure are... interesting. I'm not a big fan of texture on my own nails so I don't think I'll be going for these. It's too bad they don't come as regular polishes like you said because they would be awesome for stamping!
ReplyDeleteI think if I had to choose, Don't Be Foiled would be my pick.
ReplyDeleteI just don't like the look of this collection because, to me, it just seems messy looking, but I have to say your swatches of it are the best I've seen. Maybe that's because you stuck to 1 coat? Don't Be Foiled is a fun color, but I don't think I'll be picking this one up.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are abselutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBut this collection is just horrible :( these look like the polish went bad :(
This collection is horrible for me!
ReplyDeleteIf you don't like texture, please stay away from these indeed! You wouldn't love them at all I think.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment Erin :) but it sounds like you don't want pick one at all ;).
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Natalie! Glad you still "like" the swatches even if you don't have a thing for this collection :).
ReplyDeleteThanks my love! And yeah, they are something else haha
ReplyDelete:( I sure hope the rest from CG is going to be better this year!
ReplyDeleteSadly, I just don't like this collection. Thank you for swatches though.
ReplyDeletewow they all are gorgeous! but my fave one has to be the 1st and 3rd one! nice post :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Melissa, your wallet will be happy haha!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Glad you like them!
ReplyDeleteI'm weirdly attracted to these polishes! You make them look amazing :)
ReplyDeleteI think your swatches are some of the most flattering I've seen of this bizarre release. They're just too odd for me though I think. I stand by my comments about CG and OPI failing to impress me for over a year now.
