Illamasqua Facet

Hi loves! Today I am showing you a polish that I absolutely LOVE. It technically is a 2013 polish/manicure but since I didn't have time to post it last year, this might show up in the 2014 top polishes. Illamasqua Facet has been on my radar ever since seeing this beautiful swatch by Eugenia. And then Asos decided to throw a 25% coupon at me, so I couldn't resist anymore, now could I?

This is actually my very first Illamasqua polish and I am quite happy with the choice. This murky, greige shade is filled with a beautiful copper shimmer and it is a shade that can be worn to numerous occasions. The formula is lovely, it seemed sheer on the first coat but the second coat provided perfect coverage. It doesn't dry exceptionally shiny but since I always use topcoat that wasn't a problem.

Also, if you want to see an amazing nail art post with this as a base, make sure to check this post from my friend Hannah at Polly Polish. Steampunk awesomeness!

I am really happy I bit the bullet and bought this beauty, even though it was still a bit pricey after the discount.

Do you own any Illamasqua polishes? And which shade would you recommend?

Oh I love this one. None of American online stores that sell Ilamasqua ship to Russia, and certainly no direct shipping from their official site, thanks to Royal Mail - but a friend of mine brought me a bottle of Facet from her business trip to London. And it is so worth its money :)
As for other Illamasquas (bought before this Royal Mail polish ban), I adore Scorn - semi-matte "rubber finish" black. Oh, and of course one of their main hits - Raindrops, a grey jelly with silvery flakies. And also Viridian - a beautiful emerald shimmer.

  2. Oh well, this is quite an astonishing beauty, indeed *-* I absolutely adore such shades (even if I have only two really cheap polishes with lovely grey/beige base with gorgeous shimmer). But this one is a stunner and definitely worth the investment :))

  4. OMG, this one is completely new to me! And is absolutely gorgeous! I own three Illamasqua polishes now, I have tried a few more, but my holy trinity of Illamasqua are Rampage, Hectic and Phallic, with Hectic definitively being the most unique of the bunch. All are IMHO worth the high price tag, but after that none of their colours convinced me to spend that amount of money on their polish ... that is until this beauty on your nails! :o Three must become four now!

  7. Oh, dear, this is exactly my kind of colour. Any dupes, please?? No Illamasqua counter in this country as far as I know and I'd rather not check out the Internet or I'll cave in.

  10. Glad you got a bottle after all - I dislike it so much when a certain beauty isn't available to everyone!

The shades you mentioned are all so pretty.. *sigh*

  12. :D your comment made me really happy - it always feels so good when a swatch of mine is convincing someone to buy the polish, lol. It is a lot of money indeed and it needs to be GOOD if you are spending that, and this one surely is good enough!

  19. I've been in love with this polish since I saw the first swatch of it. Sadly, there's no way to get Illamasqua polishes here in Switzerland (neither Asos nor Illamasqua deliver to S., at least not polishes)... :-/

  20. If you want, I could order it for you and ship it? Would cost a bit extra obviously because you have the shipping from The Netherlands to Switzerland, but maybe worth a shot?
