Swatches & Review - Too Fancy Lacquer Blue Willow and Orchid of 2014

Hi loves! I have 2 new Too Fancy Lacquer shades for you, these are actually available for pre order right now (it closes February 1st) so I wanted to get these up as soon as possible! Check the website to put in your pre order! They are called Blue Willow and Orchid of 2014, and I adore both shades.

Let's take a look!

Too Fancy Lacquer Blue Willow blue silvery ultra holographic
Blue Willow is a silvery blue ultra holo. This shade is both soft and super bold at the same time! The blueish hue is just gorgeous and works well for both winter and spring, and the holo is in-your-face strong ♥. Nothing wrong with that :D.

I used 2 coats for opacity though it looked quite opaque already at one coat. I really have to try these ultra holo's for stamping soon, I am guessing they'll work wonders. The formula is on the thicker side but very easy to control and spreads like butter.

Swatches shown with topcoat (doesn't dull the holo).

Too Fancy Lacquer Orchid of 2014 orchid holographic
Orchid of 2014 is a soft orchid (oh really? haha) holo. It's in honor of the color of the year by Pantone and it fits in so well! It's on the warm side, with more red than blue in the base, and the subtle linear holo adds a lovely touch to the finish.

Again, 2 coats for opacity, the creamy consistency already looked good at 1 coat but I always do 2 out of habit. Application was again, perfect. Charlene's creme based creations have that perfect balance between a butter like application, without losing the holo touch.

Swatches shown with topcoat (doesn't dull the holo).

  16. Yes! And unlike stronger holo's, these softer ones usually look great in all lighting. The strong holo's sometimes look a bit bland when the holo can't show.
