Swatches & Review - 3 new Catrice shades

Hi loves! This week I stumbled upon a fresh, new Catrice display, in a store that didn't sell Catrice before :D (just a regular Kruidvat but the display isn't in each one) so I stood there for about 20 minutes trying to decide what to get. In the end I just got 3, because I don't want to buy things just to swatch for the blog. I picked Inner Purple of Trust (a purple crelly), Get The Blues (a duochrome) and Call Me Princess (from the Crushed Crystals line). Curious how I feel about these? Hit read more for all the info!

Catrice Inner Purple of Trust is a shade of purple that normally wouldn't spark my interest, but this one has a certain vibrancy I really liked. I think it will be an awesome base for glitters and stamping! I was a bit disappointed at first with the formula, as it is a bit sheer. But, in 3 coats it ends with a super glossy finish (no topcoat!) and that's really because of the crelly like consistency.

It did apply even and easy, not too thin nor thick, and clean up wasn't even that hard - I thought it might stain, but it doesn't.

Catrice Get The Blues is a duochrome that flashes teal and purple in the bottle, along with a steel blue shade. The base is a muddy grey. The purple didn't show up in the lighting I used to photograph this one, but it might in different settings.

The formula is sheer but easy to handle and again 3 coats were needed for an opaque result. My ringfinger has a coat of black with 2 coats of Get The Blues. It becomes a wee bit bolder but not much of a difference.

Catrice Call Me Princess is one out of 6 Crushed Crystals shade - these are marketed as texture finishes. I absolutely adore the combination of the coral pink shade with the heavy golden glitter, perfect for summer.

It definitely needs 3 coats to hide visible nail line and I think the shimmer does that trick better than the color itself actually. But.. it didn't "texturize" for me. I waited around 10 minutes before taking pictures, but my nails were still smooth as butter. I'm not sure if I did something wrong with it, maybe I should have waited longer between coats so I'll test that, but I am slightly annoyed by the fact it did nothing for me after waiting quite a while!

  1. Call Me Princess kind of does look textured, but maybe that's just the amount of glitter? Either way, I think it's gorgeous! I can't wait to find an updated display :D

  2. I love Call me princess (although 3 coats kind of puts me off) It's a gorgeous shade, very unique for a texture

  3. Ha, I love that name (Inner purple of trust) :) Though a pretty colour, it really doesn't do it for me.. hmm.
Also, that Crushed Crystal (how deliciously sparkly!) reminds me of Barry M's Royal Glitter (textured) ... "Princess".

  7. Yeah it seems to be the glitter that gives the impression it is textured. I made a picture of my nail to show how flat the polish actually is :(. It felt supersmooth!

  9. There is quite some resemblance in those 2 shades! But I think (based on online swatches) the Catrice shade is more pink.
