Hi loves! Today I have something a bit mean to show you: a gorgeous, lovely thermal polish that unfortunately is not available anymore. I know this might suck because hopefully you'll enjoy my pictures and dig the shade, but maybe it pops up somewhere some day and then you do know what it looks like, right? So let's take a look at the beautiful F.U.N Lacquer Beautiful Mistake.
As the name indicates this polish wasn't created intentionally. YuinYing thought she was whipping up a batch of Pink Tulips On The Green but when she turned on more lights, she concluded she used the wrong material! The result is a lovely blue thermal polish with an orange to pink duochrome shimmer that goes from white (warm) to a deep turquoise shade (cold). In between you'll spot some mint green and a softer blue.
There were only 28 bottles filled with the polish and I snatched number 25 (they are numbered individually). It's my first experience with F.U.N Lacquer and overall it's a good one! Each polish, both full size (16.7 ml) and mini (7 ml), comes in a box. The box has the ingredients on the back and the polish name, collection name and even the finish on top. That's a really nice addition! It's a square bottle with a normal black brush cap and a flat, slightly wider brush. The brush fans out nicely and it isn't too stiff!
The formula of F.U.N Lacquer Beautiful Mistake wasn't too great. It was thick and it dries really quickly, so it almost felt like the OPI Suede polishes after a few uses - if you don't work fast enough you'll get a rough surface somehow. Adding a drop or 4-5 of thinner helped a lot! The only other issue I had was that there seemed to be some little pigment chunks in the polish. You don't see them before putting the brush to your nail and once a little one of those pesky dots is on, you have to work fast to remove it or it'll look ugly.
In the end I used 3 coats of Beautiful Mistake, also because I didn't want it to be sheer in warm state. Luckily it wasn't, and the finish is smooth though it dries a bit matte! I added topcoat for longevity and wore this for 3 days straight, the pictures were actually taken on day 3! Now that is something I la-la-love ♥.
Whew, lengthy review! I am trying to go more in depth with new to me brands so I hope you enjoyed reading this. Tell me in the comments how you feel about this polish!
