Hi loves! Another post about F.U.N Lacquer, but luckily these polishes are readily available to purchase. I am introducing you to the F.U.N Lacquer The Luxury Set which consists of Bling It On, a silver foil holographic, and Pay Day!, a real sterling silver flakie topper.
My experience with these was great. As I mentioned last Tuesday I really adore the packaging - the boxes are gorgeous and all the information that is included on it is really helpful when you have a larger stash and quickly want to know what you are holding. The formula is good on both polishes but I'll get into details with each shade.
F.U.N Lacquer Bling It On is a silver foil shade with a holographic finish. I used 3 coats to build it up and it applied very easily. The silver is a very soft shade so it looks pretty and delicate in the shade, but bright lighting or sun will bring out the holographic finish.
I swatched this over a base of Duri Rejuvacote and didn't use topcoat. The foil particles are quite coarse which I like, makes it look more bold and less boring when the rainbow doesn't show. It dries quickly and evens out very well.
F.U.N Lacquer Pay Day! is the showstopper of the 2. I have to admit my pictures do not do this justice, it's really one you have to see in real life! It's a sterling silver flakie which will look more platinum or golden depending on the lighting but also the shade you layer it over. First I used 1 coat over black, then 4 coats by itself.
When layered over black you can see how nicely it spreads. I did not have to manipulate this at all - just glide it on and the flakies will settle perfectly. They lay down flat and the finish is super smooth, no topcoat in my pictures!
Build up alone it might look mighty sheer in my pictures, but it actually looked quite opaque in real life! That's because it gives such a nice blingy surface, you don't really notice the little bit of nail peeking through. You could always use 2 coats over a nude, which will give the same effect I think. I added a bonus picture at a really weird angle, but that's how it looks without the macro effect and bright lighting directly on the nail.
I loved both of these! But the winner for me is Pay Day! because of the versatility. This is not the last time you've seen this on the blog! Which one would you pick? Tell me in the comments.
