A splatter nail art using Maybelline Bleached Neon shades

Hi loves! Today I have a fun and simple nail art to show you, using 2 of the Maybelline Bleached Neon shades. A week or so ago I grabbed 2 of them for €6,- (I just can't resist discounts!) and the pink has already graced my tips, but the green shade is a bit.. too green lol. I'll wear it eventually but for now I wanted to use it in another way. Splatter it is!

Fun fact: apparently the polishes have different names here compared to the US. Maybelline Lime Accent is called Chic Chartreuse here, and Pink Punch is Tropink. Also, there are only 4 shades available here instead of 8. Oh well, we always get denied the good stuff ;-).

My base is OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, a slightly grey tinged white. I needed 2 coats. The formula is always a bit struggling for me as it is SO thin. This time I only flooded one cuticle luckily! After it dried a bit, I grabbed 3 short straws and used Maybelline Tropink (Pink Punch) for the first round, a england Camelot for the second and finished using Maybelline Chic Chartreuse (Lime Accent). It's fun to see the green almost looks like a highlighter yellow this way!

Clean up is always a bit of a b*tch when doing splatter, especially with black, but I removed most of it with a flattipped Q-tip and did the rest with my brush. I sealed in everything using Glisten & Glow HK Girl Topcoat (I have to get a new bottle! It's almost gone).

How do you like this splatter? Do you own any of the Maybelline Bleached Neons? Tell me in the comments!

  1. I love it! :) ..and much respect to you, lol, for bothering with the messines this technique produces. :D

  2. Oh my, awesome babe!

  3. Heel erg gaaf! Erg leuke kleuren heb je gebruikt.

  4. Thanks! It wasn't even that bad actually, but it does take some scrubbing :)
