Swatches & Review - The F.U.N Lacquer 1st Anniversary collection!

Hi loves! I'm back from vacation, and in more than one way.. my nails are back to their old shape! New York was super awesome and we loved our stay, though a week was enough because this city is overwhelming! I had the pleasure to meet both Annie from Cirque Colors and Shaneka from Polish My Life (there is proof of that on Instagram ^^) which was so cool. We also visited a lot of musea and other touristy things, along with just browsing the city, enjoying the parks and such. Obviously I brought home some polish, would you guys be interested in a haul post? Let me know!

Okay, to get to the subject of today's post, I'm showing you the 7 shades from the F.U.N Lacquer 1st Anniversary collection that are set to be released October 1st, 11:30PM SGT. There are 4 different shades, 3 of them are a duo with a "regular" version and a holographic buddy, and then there is Pay Day (H) which is the holographic version of the earlier released Pay Day.

The lacquers are poured in the brand new bottles which are 12ml in size, and have screenprinted logo's opposed to the stickers that were on the old bottles. I really like the new bottles, they are so elegant!

All swatches are done over Essence Studio Nails XXL Nail Protector, without a matching basecolor and topped with a england The Shield. Because every shade has a holographic sibbling, there is also a picture of each duo side by side for comparison purpose. Let's take a look!

F.U.N Lacquer Pay Day (H) is a polish that holds real sterling silver flakes, and they are very light reflective. When the light hits your nails in the right angle you'll have an effect like a disco ball :D! And to make it even better, there is a holographic effect as well. Very stunning!

I used 3 coats for opacity, application was good. The formula isn't thick nor thin and easy to handle.

F.U.N Lacquer Million Dollar Dream is a golden holographic glitter. It's quite warm in tone but I loved the look of it. It's really sparkly and would make a great party accessory.

To get this look I needed 2 coats. It's a bit thicker but still applies well. I used both a brushing and dabbing motion to put this on, that way you can fill gaps better and don't need as many coats.

F.U.N Lacquer Million Dollar Dream (H) is the holographic sibbling to the previous polish. It seems a bit colder in tone, and if I'm not mistaken the glitter is milled more finely too - might just be the holographic pigment in there though. Because of that holographic pigment the formula is a bit more smooth.

Again, I needed 2 coats for opacity. Slightly thinner than the non holo version but still on the thicker side.

F.U.N Lacquer Prima Donna is a lovely lavender/pink shade of  holographic glitter. Very girly and cute! This would look great in a gradient or something, I'm sure.

3 coats provided me a good opacity, this one felt a bit more sparse and thin but I don't mind, with some brushing and dabbing it look great and didn't build up too thick.

F.U.N Lacquer Prima Donna (H) is the holographic sibbling to the previous polish. I'll admit the holographic effect doesn't seem very strong to me, but it might be because the glitter is so sparkly that it doesn't get a chance to shine through ;-). Because of the holographic pigment this shade ends up being one or 2 shades lighter, making it easier to get them both without feeling guilty ^^.

Just like the non-holo one, 3 coats were needed for opacity but they went on quite thin.

F.U.N Lacquer Secret is my favorite shade out of these 7. It looks a lot more blah in my pictures unfortunately, this has such amazing depth and sparkle in real life! It's a lovely mermaid like teal with holographic sparkle.

The formula seemed to be the most sparse though it's always more noticable with darker color when there are small blank spots. What you see in pictures is an extreme close-up, it looked totally opaque in real life. I used 3 coats and it applied well.

F.U.N Lacquer Secret (H) is the holographic sibbling to the previous polish. The holographic effect is really visible in this one and also makes the polish a lot lighter, so no guilt feelings when you get them both.

Good formula, 3 coats needed for opacity.

That's it, all 7 shades from the F.U.N Lacquer 1st Anniversary collection! They're all beautiful but my top pick is Secret. Teal shades are my weak spot! Which one do you like best? And do you plan on ordering some of these? Tell me in the comments!
