There's something fishy about my nails!

Fish scale nails nail art
Hi loves! Today I have some fun nail art to show you! A while back I tried the stamping decal technique for the very first time. Well, I really liked it and wanted to try it again ^^. And because I loooove everything teal, the fish scale decal from MoYou London Sailor 05 and this technique, I knew this image was destined as my second attempt. I made my decals on a silicon baking mat this time. The benefits of not making them on the stamper are that you can create more decals in a shorter amount of time, but also less risk of a curved decal. So this will be my new best friend from now on :-).

The polishes I used for this look are: Sinful Colors Athens, H&M Lady Luck and a england St. George. It's fun to mix up some different finishes, especially with this design. I stamped using Konad Black and with a very fine detail brush I filled in some of the blank scales. A few of them weren't colored in and that's where the Sinful Colors shines through ;-).

My technique is based on this tutorial by Lucy's Stash. What works easiest for me is to let the decal dry long enough it's a bit hardened already, but still soft enough to smooth down. Using the flat side of an orange wood stick I just basically tear off the sides and bottom by "stabbing" the decal around the nail. The part on the tips I can tear off and seal in with a bit of acetone. Use a layer of topcoat and then you are done!
What do you think of these nails? Do you like the color combo as much as I do :-)? Tell me in the comments!

  15. I could too :D! And yes you should, so much easier! I actually place my stamping plate on the other half (since I cut it) and now my plate doesn't slide around as much anymore when I am scraping it.
