P2 Flashy - First Try at Stamping Decals

Hi guys! Ever since Deborah showed her perfect skill in creating stamping decals I have wanted to try it for myself too. I love the idea of being able to use my stamping plates in a different way, so this week I thought I would try to make a decal too!

The base for this manicure is another new P2 polish I got a while ago. It's called Flashy and its from the Wild Me Up LE from this summer. It's a wonderfully bright pink, almost red colour and it's opaque in 1 coat!

To make the decal I used a pattern from bm plate 313 and konad white and then coloured in the spots with a small nail art brush and Kiko 342 Sea Green and 333 Brilliant Violet. I still need a lot of practice though. I can see some bald spots in the macro shots and I had a hard time removing the decals from the plastic bag I used. I am still very happy with the results though, I think it turned out pretty cute ! I hope you guys like it too and see you next week!

So cute! I have no clue how to use a stamping plate for anything. I'll have to look for a tutorial :)

  3. This is definitely a cool look! Stamping decals are definitely a "practice makes perfect" thing - it takes a keen eye to see all those tiny corners. I've found that if I leave it on the stamper head and use a contrasting color stamper to my stamping polish, it helps.

  5. I think you did great! I attempted nail decals a couple times but it was a mess to remove them from the plastic I made them on :(

  10. Looks great! I definitely prefer stamping decals since my stamping never transfers well onto my nails.

  12. Very cute! I kinda prefer the method where you fill in the color on the stamper then stamp it on a semi wet nail. I tried decal once and failed, haven't tried again ever since.

This is so bright! It's awesome! Practice makes perfect and lord knows, I needs tons of it. This looks great and if you didn't point out the baddies, I wouldn't have even seen them.

  23. I really like that method too but you can only make one picture at a time that way (or only as many as you have stamps). I really want to practice doing all 10 nails :D

  24. Thanks Phyrra!
(did you know your youtube video made me get the Vice 3 palette? :D)

  25. Thank you very much! It's not really freehanded though, I just coloured in the stamped image :)
That bottlecap is the best right! I based the colours for the decal off of it as well :)

  26. Oh that's a shame! Did you try roughing up the stamp a bit with a nailfile? That sometimes helps the transfer

  27. Thanks! I bet you have great skills, just practice! <3

  28. Ahw, thank you!
And I bed you can though, just practice a bit!

  29. I had the same problem :( I am going to try it on a silicone baking mat next time (kudos to Deborah for that tip!)

  30. I prefer making them on the stamp as well, but I only have 2 stamps and would like to practice making enough decals for 10 fingers :D

  34. Came out absolutely gorgeous Loqi!!! Love the colours so much! I purchased a silicone baking mat from Action (a tip from Deborah :D) which makes peeling off the decal a lot easier.
