Hi loves! Today I have a fun nailart skittlette to show you. The other day I was rummaging through my stuff and realized I hadn't tried the She Sells Seashells water decals in Helen's Garden variety yet. So that's what I am showing you today ^^.
Curious about what I used to create this look?
Water decals come in all kinds of designs and shapes, including full nail water decals but also smaller ones with clear backgrounds to add some detail to your look. The ones I used are the full nail kind and while they come in a few different sizes, I still had to trim them in order to make them fit.
Each sheet of full nail decals comes with 12 pieces so you can use them a few times as accents or just go wild and use them on all your nails! I chose to pair them with China Glaze For Audrey. In my pictures you see the slightest difference between the polish and decal color, but in reality it didn't show up at all.
For full instructions on how to use the decals please check the product page. The only issues I had was the decals wouldn't dry on me and kept sliding around. Please keep in mind I am quite clumsy ad impatient so that didn't help ;-). Once I got them in place a bit, I used China Glaze For Audrey to wrap my tips and sealed in everything with topcoat. Because my nails are quite curved, I had some little wrinkles in the decals. Other than that the fit was good!
My index and pinky got covered with China Glaze For Audrey as well. I also used a golden rose embellishment (currently out of stock, but check the silver ones here) from She Sells Seashells to tie in with the other nails. These embellishments are quite thin, and if you shape them a bit on a pencil before placing them on the nail, they'll follow your nailbed better. Again, sealed in with topcoat for a shiny and smooth result :).
Unfortunately these pictures make it seems like the decals were damaged a bit, well they were but again it wasn't something you noticed in reality. It's just those darn close-up pictures that highlight every flaw!
Have you ever tried water decals? If so, which ones are your favorite? Tell me in the comments!
