Nail art inspired by Nail Talk using Kaleidoscope by El Corazon

Hi loves! Before we get into details today, I kinda want to scream: I tore off almost half of my middle finger nail, luckily not on my swatch hand.. but still. Sad day! I think I'll put a band aid over it since it looks terrible :-(.

On a positive note, I have a fun nail look to share today that was inspired by Mirjam from Nail Talk. I kinda copied her design but went with a different shade to stamp and use as an accent.

Just like Mirjam, I used Kaleidoscope by El Corazon 04 First Snowdrop as my base. This beautiful white shade is laced with blue sparks and it applies SO heavenly! Really, almost opaque in one coat and it wears very well too. I'm still thinking of getting the others shades from this collection as well!

After it dried, I grabbed OPI I Saw.. You Saw.. We Saw.. Warsaw and MoYou London Fashionista 04 to do the stamping. I also used the OPI on my ring finger and thumb as accents. Fun fact: I'll be going on a trip to Warsaw in a few months! Any readers here that have tips for me? I know I have to visit Inglot, and I'll definitely go to both Sephora and Bath & Body Works, but anything other than that? Cultural, food, beauty, shopping related - everything goes!

So, the OPI stamped quite well and the slight sheerness adds to the effect in my opinion - it also matches nicely with the blue sparks in the base polish.

Lovely mani. How did you tear off your nail? I hope it recovers soon! Enjoy Warsaw! I've always wanted to go there and visit Auschwitz-Birkenau, especially this year, because yesterday was the 70th anniversary of liberation.

  3. I'm so sorry about your nail :( I'm using the band aid trick on my pinky at the moment... the poor thing wasn't even 5 mm long after I took a fall with my bike. Right now it has almost reached the top of my finger... yup, lots of tlc and fertilizer for that one ;)

Lovely manicure!! I'm not sure which one I like better... your dark blue is gorgeous but so is the teal Mirjam used :)

AHH!I am sorry about your nail! That is the worst! I almost surgically peeled my middle finger nail while slicing tomatoes the other day. I've been loving it tenderly :)

  6. This difference in the stamped image and the full nail is awesome. I thought it was 2 different polishes. I really like this entire look. You picked a great one to draw inspiration from. Have a great time on your trip!

  9. That royal blue accent nail is amazing! I hate when a nail breaks, mine are kept short because they break or bend constantly!

  15. There was already a crack in it, and then I was clearing out some of the bookshelves, letting a book slip through my hand.. it hit the nail and it tore down halfway my nailbed :(.

Yes we've been thinking about combining it with a trip to Auschwitz, but it's a 3,5 hour drive and we don't have our car with us. But, it's still on my list of things I have to see once in my life. It's such an important part of our history!

  16. Oh no, did you hurt anything else when falling with your bike? Hope it grows out quickly.

Yes, I love her version so much as well! Thanks Joyce :).

  17. Ooooh that sounds bad :( hope it grows out quickly! Mine is finally showing some white again, it isn't nearly reshaped yet but it doesn't look as torn anymore.

  20. Thanks Julie! Aaah, the nasty feeling of a nail bending all the way - I hate when that happens.

  22. Fabric is what came to my mind as well - like a fun t-shirt or something!

  23. Hehe, for the first time in more years than I care to divulge I had scraped knees... my mom actually got a good laugh out of that one (after expressing her concern and telling me that I should remember gravity can NOT be turned off under normal circumstances :)
