Swatches & Review - 3 new Lacquester shades

Hi loves! About a week ago I introduced you to a new to me indie brand called Lacquester. Unfortunately the shade I showcased wasn't available since it was a custom, but today I have 3 shades to share with you that will be released January 18th! I was lucky enough to win these in a giveaway and decided to review them prior to the release. The shades are Glitterrazzi, Mr. Grey and Petrolista.

Lacquester Glitterrazzi

Let's take a look!

Both Mr. Grey and Petrolista are creme shades, though there is the tiniest bit of sparkle in Petrolista. To make them sparkle there's the glitter topper called Glitterrazzi. There's both iridescent and holographic glitter in there so it will look good over a multitude of basecolors!

Last time I forgot to include the info, but Lacquester does ship internationally. You can check if your country is eligible on this Instagram post!

Lacquester Mr. Grey

Lacquester Mr. Grey

Lacquester Mr. Grey is a dark grey creme. The formula is both a bit watery yet pigmented, so I needed 3 coats to get it even and opaque. I do think I could have better used thicker coats, maybe 2 would have been enough then. Sometimes grey shades can be a bit bland, I like that this one is dark enough to make a statement but grey enough to remain grey ^^.

Lacquester Petrolista

Lacquester Petrolista

Lacquester Petrolista is a true petrol shade. It isn't blue enough to be turquoise, green enough to be teal, it's the hint of grey that makes it petrol! A lovely creamy formula, I used slightly thicker coats and could almost get away with a single layer. In my bottle is a hint of sparkle in the creme base but just the tiniest bit, this won't be the case in other batches!

Lacquester Glitterrazzi over Petrolista

Lacquester Glitterrazzi is a sparkly topcoat, with both iridescent and holographic glitters. It applies easily and even, the glitter doesn't clump together. Also it dries quite smooth, no special topcoat ritual needed for a glassy result! I used one coat over Petrolista.

Overall conclusion
While the formula of Mr. Grey wasn't as good as I hoped, Petrolista made up for it. It's also one of my favorite shades so I was already a bit partial to that one ;-). Glitterrazzi is a fun and versatile topper that can be used over lots of shades.

  2. You make them look extra special gorgeous :D

I changed the formula of Mr. Grey so the batches released will be less watery and give a 2 coat coverage. I'll send you a replacement. It should be the same as Petrolista now.

  5. Petrolista is such a beautiful color!! And I love it with Glitterrazzi on top!

  6. Hmm, do you mean Cirque Colors NYFW? Because I can assure you that's not close to L&R at all! L&R is more like a soft toned royal blue in comparison, while the Cirque shade is more cobalt. But yes, it is a popular shade of blue.

The shimmers are the highlights of the set I think!

  7. Getting them on sale sounds like a great idea - indeed they aren't groundbreaking but the apply nice and it's always nice to have a variety of shades available ;-).

  10. I agree with you! But somehow they creep under your skin and just need to be in your stash. The shimmers are more unique though!

  37. Petrolista was lovely, unfortunately Mr. Grey lacked a bit in pigmentation but I've been told the formula has been changed so it should be as perfect as Petrolista now :).
