Swatches & Review - 3 shades from the Polish Alcoholic Superheroes collection!

Hi loves! Today I a back with the first regular post of 2015, and it's a review of 3 new shades from Polish Alcoholic. A few days ago Sabrina launched a 6 piece set called Superheroes and it's based on, guess what, superheroes :-D. My friend Emily has reviewed the other 3 so if you're curious, pop over to Very Emily and check out the rest! The shades I'll be showing you are Daredevil (a bright red hue packed with red holographic glitter in various sizes and a pinch of fine black/silver flakies), Loki (a duo chrome polish that shifts from brown to green. It has multi chrome shimmer/flecks running throughout) and Mystique (a blue jelly polish packed with red and blue holographic glitter in various sizes).

First up is Daredevil. This bright red hue packed with red holographic glitter in various sizes holds a pinch of fine black/silver flakies, making it a very interesting red! I used 3 coats, and the formula was lovely. The amount of larger glitter could be a bit more in my opinion, but at least it applies smooth and without any clumping glitter.

Next we have Loki. I thought this duo chrome polish that shifts from brown to green would be my least favorite, but it actually turned out to be the one I love most. The green flash is so stunning! And then there's multi chrome shimmer/flecks running throughout that add an extra dimension to the level of beauty. The formula is sheer, though 3 coats provide enough coverage, especially because of the heavy shimmer.

Last but not least, we have Mystique. A blue jelly polish packed with red and blue holographic glitter in various sizes. This is definitely jelly and at 3 coats you can still easily see my nail line. But, the blue shade is super pretty and the color so intense, I don't really mind! Application was easy and the glitter behaves well.

Overall conclusion
I think this is a really fun collection. Especially with the other 3 shades in mind, you have something for everyone in terms of both finish and color. Opacity isn't the strongest part of these 3 shades and while it adds to the look with Mystique, it would have been nice if both Loki and Daredevil would be opaque in 2 coats. Loki turns out to be my favorite, which is surprising since it is a brown.

I loooove the shift in Loki. TBH I'm not a fan of sheer polish (uggerly stained nails), but Mystique is terrifically pretty. Love it!

  8. Loki and Mystique are stunners! I agree that the sheerness of mystique makes it all the more interesting, but it would be great for Loki to be a bit more opaque. I also like that Daredevil appears to lean orange because I'm not typically a red polish person.

  24. Me neither, but even though it's sheer the blue is still a pigmented shade, so it covers stains anyway.

  25. That's the fun with collections like these, the reference adds some extra dimension to it.

  26. Daredevil definitely has an orange hue to it, making it a bit more unique too. Even though it takes 3 coats, the endresult is gorgeous for both Loki and Mystique so it's justified.

  27. Definitely! In the bottle I kinda thought "meh... not my kinda shade..." but it surprised me so much on the nail!
