Swatches & Review - 2 Dance Legend City Lights shades

Hi loves! Another Dance Legend Tuesday, this time featuring 2 fun glitter shades you can wear both alone and layered. They are from the Dance Legend City Lights collection, consisting of 6 different shades. They are all glitters in squishy jelly bases. Both shades became "opaque" in 3 coats, though you'll still see VNL.

Let's take a closer look!

Dance Legend Fireworks is a purple jelly base, filled with small iridescent square glitter and a golden microglitter. The bottle color definitely packs more punch than the result on your nails, due to the squishy sheer jelly base. I used 3 coats and topcoat for my swatches. Application is easy, though the formula is quite thick and almost like hair gel - it remains put on the brush but when you try and apply it, it actually spreads out nicely and even.

When layered over a darker color, the iridescent glitter takes on a lovely blue hue and the sparkle really stands out.

Dance Legend Hen Party is a coral jelly base, filled with golden iridescent square glitter and golden microglitter. This one becomes as bright on the nail as it looks in the bottle, but still has that squishy sheer finish. Again, I used 3 coats and topcoat, the formula is similar to Fireworks - gel like, thick yet spreading nicely once on the nail.

When layered over a coral creme the golden hue of the glitter really stands out - a perfect Summer look! This shade reminds me of Cult Nails Captivated.

Here's a look at both shades layered. I used H&M Notoriously Beautiful to go with Fireworks, and Hen Party was paired with OPI Live. Love. Carnaval. Both are 1 coat over the basecolor.

Overall conclusion
While I somehow wasn't too excited up front about these 2 shades, they surprised me in a good way. The base is squishy yet the glitter hides most VNL, and what is left doesn't bother me. They apply nicely and can also be layered when you just want to add some sparkle to a creme base. Dance Legend Hen Party is the perfect Summer shade!

What do you think of these 2? And which one's your favorite? Tell me in the comments!

  1. Wow gorgeous swatches!! I think I would have probably layered them over black so I really love what you did with them. Those square glitters are adorable!

  3. You had me at "iridescent", which is a glitter type I am a major fan of. I especially like seeing the layered.

I don't really like the iridescent glitters, but these sure are pretty. I do like Fireworks out of the two, but your swatches are always so darn gorgeous so they both look great!

Fireworks is SOOOOO pretty. How off about the consistency, though. Your swatch is so freaking pretty.

  9. Iridiscent glitters can be so hard - we love them but then we hate them! haha
These are pretty and I'd always go for the layered effect to get the most out of them - but that's the I-love-sparkles person in me ;)
