Hi loves! I'm back with Dance Legend Tuesday today ^^ and this time I'm showcasing two lovely creme shades. They're both from the Dance Legend Gel-Effect 2 range, which consists of 18 polishes in total. Somehow I can't find these on the Dance Legend website, not sure if they are still available? The original Gel-Effect collection is still listed so that's a bit weird.
Let's take a closer look!
Dance Legend Gel-Effect 1045 is a dark, creamy purple. It's a cool toned purple and the opacity is good. 2 coats are all you need to eliminate VNL. These polishes apply very evenly and even if they don't seem to level at first, after a few seconds you'll have a smooth glossy finish. I topped it with Essence Gel-look topcoat to add even more shine. The formula was slightly thick but still easy to control.
Dance Legend Gel-Effect 1046 is a soft, lavender shade with a hint of pink to it. Again, great opacity at 2 coats. The formula was better on this one, thinner but still covering very well and very smooth and glossy! This will make a gorgeous base for nailart I think :).
Overall conclusion
Based on these shades, I think it's safe to say the Gel-Effect shades provide you with a smooth, creamy finish. The only thing I don't really get is the gel-effect claim. I mean, it's not a polish that claims to stay put longer, obviously it doesn't have that plump, juicy finish a true gel mani has.. just call them "perfect cremes" or something and I'd love them too ;-)! I'm partial to 1046, especially since I am longing for Spring, but 1045 is just as lovely.
What do you think of so called gel-effect polishes? And which of these 2 would you pick? Tell me in the comments!
Dance Legend is sold through their own webshop. Dance Legend Gel-Effect shades come in 15 ml. bottles and retail for $7. Shipping worldwide is $10 and free if you order over 10 bottles.
There are also a few retailers listed on their website if you prefer shopping with a more local webshop. Hypnotic Polish is one of them and is based in The Netherlands. You can also find Dance Legend on Facebook and Instagram.
