Swatches & Review - 3 shades from Habit

Hi loves! Today I have a brand to show you that's new to me, well at least it's the first time I tried their polishes. It's Habit, a brand from the United States. The polishes come in gorgeous square bottles with a bold, square cap made from bamboo. Each polish is also boxed and what´s so special about the formula, is that it contains myrrh. This ingredient strengthens your nails without making them brittle and is also anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal.

Let´s take a look!

Habit Darling Nikki is a deep fuchsia with purple shimmer. I´ll admit, this isn´t really my kind of shade. But, when transformed with a matte topcoat I was pleasantly surprised!

Darling Nikki has a flowy, thin formula. It applies very evenly, I used 3 coats for opacity and no topcoat (besides the matte one) as it dries very shiny. The shimmer is quite visible at all times but not overpowering the basecolor, rather complimenting it.

Habit Hussy is a true red creme. It pulled very orange in my pictures, while it has some coral undertones it's definitely not this orange in real life.

Hussy has a thicker, creamier formula that's almost opaque in one coat. I used 2, no topcoat. It dries shinier than you'd suspect here, again my camera was just not playing nice with this one!

Habit Santa Sangre is a blood-red creme. It's a tad darker in real life but my bright lighting lights up colors like these. It's also a bit jelly in finish which also makes it appear lighter in pictures.

Santa Sangre has a thinner formula, flowing nicely though slightly uneven. 3 coats are needed for good opacity and to even out the color. The shine is gorgeous, no topcoat used!

Overall conclusion
As this is my first experience with Habit, I wasn't sure how'd they apply and work for me. I am happy to say I like the formulation, branding and square bottle. The bamboo cap is a bit large and can be tricky to hold if you have smaller hands. While all 3 polishes were different in formula, they all applied nicely and I didn't have any issues to report.

My top pick would be Santa Sangre, I just love a darker red shade!

Have you heard of Habit before? And which shade would you like to try? Tell me in the comments!
Habit polishes can be bought through their own webshop. There are also a few other e-tailers selling this brand as well as local US shops. Check here for more info! The formula is 5-free, cruelty-free, gluten-free, vegan and strengthens naturally because of the added myrrh.

You can connect with Habit on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram.

  3. Gorgeous swatches. While they're beautiful shades I can't help but feel there's nothing particularly special or unusual there.

  9. These are pretty! Darling Nikki looks sort of throwback to me, like one of my old mainstays OPI Pompeii Purple. It looks cool with matte topcoat!
