Hi guys! Happy Koningsdag! For those of who you don't know what I mean, it is King's day today, the birthday of King Willem-Alexander. And you know how we Dutch people celebrate anything really... in style! Now normally everyone goes all out orange on days like this. But you guys know I hate orange on my nails. So instead I did a (somewhat) Delfts blauw/Delftware inspired nail-art with tulips!
Curious to see more?
I hope you guys like it too and see you next week!
I was expecting some orange nails but these put a huge smile on my face! I totally got the the Delfts Blauw reference and I think these look gorgeous! Very different to all the typical Koningsdag nails so I love them! Great job Manon!
ReplyDeleteThanks Emily! <3 It's great that you got the reference :D yay, succes!
ReplyDeleteI totally don't mind your nails aren't orange, I love this shade of blue!
ReplyDeleteI immediately saw Delfts Blauw! Such a classic look. I don't know anything about King's Day, but I don't mind that you're not sporting orange nails as these look great to me :)
ReplyDeleteSo simple and cute, the tulip design is one I haven't seen before! I think you did a good job at getting it on straight!
ReplyDeleteI think you nailed the stamping, hun - getting it lined up 100% on all nails is also a challenge for me, so I completely understand ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd I totally agree with Lindsey - never mind not wearing orange; these look fab!
I can never read your blog on mobile because the background doesn't load, but I love the nails! That shade of blue and the crisp white tulips get me!
ReplyDeleteThe pattern is so cute - makes me think of Spring. Which is taking forever to arrive.
ReplyDeleteThese are adorable!! I love that blue polish!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Koningsdag to you :D I have a lot of Dutch friends and I totally get what you say about celebrating everything hahaha :D Also I love your mani ! Stamping tulips on your nails was a great idea :) And this blue shade is perfect !! :D
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteWe can get a little insane in our celebrating haha
Thank you!
ReplyDelete:D Thanks Mina! <3
ReplyDeleteI hardly ever use patterns that have to go on straight like this either, I'm so terrible at getting them straight lol. But you did a fabulous job, I love the little flowers.
ReplyDeleteI admit I was wondering why you didn't wear orange haha :) Love the tulips and the white &blue China look!
ReplyDeleteI love this!! The tulip pattern is beautiful, and it really looks like Delft pottery! Happy King's Day :)
ReplyDeleteI adore those two colors together - much better than orange for me, too!
ReplyDeleteThis is just gorgeous! Such a fun celebration mani!
ReplyDeleteLove your manicure, so non-traditional, yet traditional, if you know what I mean! And that blue, oh my... Happy Dutchie-time! :D
