Hi loves! Today I have a collection to show you I thought would never make it here.. Colors by Llarowe contacted me about swatching their Pretty Woman 25th Anniversary collection and sent it my way April 2nd. It arrived quite fast in Holland, April 7th to be exact, but then it got stuck in customs.. long story short, I only managed to get a hold of the box on May 6th and since this is such a large collection, I needed some time to swatch as well. But I proudly present you the swatches of all 13 polishes that are part of the Pretty Woman 25th Anniversary collection!
Grab a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy the picture spam ^^.
Colors by Llarowe 976-Babe is a pinky red intense holo with purple flash. In pictures it pulls very red, in real life it definitely has a more identifiable magenta hue to it. The opacity of this polish is insane, and the formula is great to work with. Just be careful not to spill this polish all over your cuticles or clean-up will be terrible. 2 coats and topcoat.
Colors by Llarowe A Lot More Help Sucking Up is a denim blue holo with purple and pink flash. This is that perfect in between shade, periwinkle might even be an appropriate description. Love the shade and the holographic finish is quite apparent as well! A bit more "jelly" in formula though opaque in 2 easy coats, topped with topcoat.
Colors by Llarowe Barney is an orchid purple crelly with pink shimmer/sheen. Quite sheer at first but builds to opacity in 3 coats. This one definitely surprised me on the nail! Finished with topcoat.
Colors by Llarowe Big Mistake. Big Huge. is a rosy purple based pink crelly chameleon with intense gold shimmer. I did not like this at all in the bottle, I wasn't wowed when putting it on because of brushstrokes, but I completely adore how it looks in my pictures, lol! Must be the shimmer catching the light while letting the basecolor shine through on the sides of my nails. Creamy formula, 2 coats and topcoat.
Colors by Llarowe Blue Banana is a deep blurple crelly with pink shimmer. I feel this photographed a bit too bright, there´s a bit more dustiness to the finish in real life. Again very creamy in formula, only 2 coats were needed for opacity and finished with topcoat.
Colors by Llarowe Divot Dancer is a teal green holo. I was expecting this to be my favorite but somehow it doesn´t light my fire, it seems a bit flat or bland compared to the other beauties in this collection? Nonetheless the formula is lovely, just 2 coats for opacity and finished with topcoat.
Colors by Llarowe I Want The Fairytale is a turquoise blue jelly with pinky and purple shimmer/sheen. In my pictures the VNL doesn't show but it's there in real life. Not too bad, though! I Want The Fairytale was a surprise shade for me, I liked it way better on the nails than in the bottle. It's sheer and needs to be build up but the formula is good and 3 coats provide a nice squishy finish. Finished with topcoat.
Colors by Llarowe Kit is a hot pink crelly with assorted glitters and iridescent blue hexes and a sprinkling of holo. Such a complex shade, and so so beautiful! I absolutely adore this one, even though it has a minor flaw: the glitter seems to be sinking a bit, so before using it I recommend to put it upside down and give it a good shake. 2 coats are all you need, finished with topcoat.
Colors by Llarowe Pirates of Penzance is a bright, true red intense holo with red flame. If you put this next to 976-Babe you'll see that 976-Babe definitely is not a red shade. Pirates of Penzance definitely is! Such an eyecatching shade and such an intense holo flame! It also has that same insane pigmented formula similar to 976-Babe, easy and even to apply in 2 thin coats (though you could probably do with 1 as well). Finished with topcoat.
Colors by Llarowe Slippery Little Suckers is a peach jelly with baby blue shimmer. Shades like these always play tricks with my skintone and camera and are hard to capture for me so please excuse any incorrectness here. This one was slightly more creamy than I Want The Fairytale but I still used 3 coats to be sure of opacity. Finished with topcoat.
Colors by Llarowe Vivian+Edward is a bright hot pink holo with purple flash. I love the color of this one, and the formula was great as well. 2 easy coats and topcoat. It doesn't look as bright on me though compared to some other swatches. Might be a slight batch difference?
Colors by Llarowe Well Done! Woo! Woo! Woo! is a bright blue green mint with intense gold shimmer and microscopic gold flakes. A very lovely shade of mint green and that golden flash it gets because of those flakes is just stunning! The holographic finish isn't as pronounced but I don't even mind. 2 easy coats and topcoat.
Colors by Llarowe What's Your Dream? is a magenta purple intense holo with purple flash. This one definitely has a lot of red in it, a very warm purple shade is the result. Great formula, very pigmented and opaque in 2 easy coats, finished with topcoat.
Overall conclusion
Whew, 13 beautiful polishes all swatched in one setting - it was quite the effort I must admit! When you are using that much polishes in such a short timeframe, it's sometimes hard to determine which ones you like best, but standouts for me are definitely Kit, Blue Banana and Well Done! Woo! Woo! Woo!. Formulawise these were all dreamy, though I would have liked I Want The Fairytale to be a tad more opaque, and Slippery Little Suckers just doesn't play right with my skintone.
Right now this collection is still fully available on Llarowe and it'll probably stay available for a while.
What do you think of this set? Which shade is your favorite? Tell me in the comments!
Colors by Llarowe is the indie brand from the well known stockist Llarowe. The formula is 3-free and the bottles hold 12 ml. of polish. Retail price depends on the ingredients used and can vary between $10 and $12.
Ugh, sucks that it took so long to get to you, but you did a great job swatching! I really like A Lot More Help Sucking Up. :)
ReplyDeleteOmg, I can't pick! This might be the first collection in which I like very single polish!
ReplyDeleteCustoms are the worst really. Can't believe they made us wait this long for your gorgeous swatches of these beauties! I'm in love with Well Done! Woo! Woo! Woo! (even the name is awesome :))

ReplyDeleteA Lot More Help Sucking Up looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI picked Pirates of Penzance and Divot Dance from this collection. Pirates of Penzance is all kinds of stunning! In fact, I am wearing it right now and I can't stop admiring it.
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to buy several polishes just for the names, because they refer to the most hilarious scenes in "Pretty Woman" ("Big Mistake" and "Slippery Little Suckers"), but decided to resist )) unfortunately, these colors are not my cup of tea.
WOW! Your swatches being so beautiful make it hard to choose. Of the holo's Pirates of Penzance for sure. True red holo's are tricky to find. Of the shimmers I like Big Mistake, a lovely combination of colours.
ReplyDeleteDat holo effect... wauw. Zo enorm mooi!! Prachtige kleuren ook. Echt.. wauw!
ReplyDeleteYou did an amazing job with these Deborah!! I'm oddly drawn to Big Mistake Big Huge and Slippery Little Suckers. They're so unusual but they look amazing and Well Done Woo Woo Woo is a winner too <3

ReplyDeleteMy top pick would be Pirates of Penzance!
