Glam Polish Under The Sea collection and the shades looked so great together, so I wanted to create a fun look with them. It didn't come out exactly as I planned, but I still like it.
Let's dive right in!
I already loved how the 3 pastel shades looked together, but the names of each shade and the collection name was a great inspiration as well - how could I not do mermaid nails?! I've used this stamping image as a decal before and while the colors are less moody, the effect is just as striking to me.
To create the look I stamped the MoYou London Sailor 05 image on the smooth side of a silicon backing mat. While I only needed 2 decals, I did about 4 rounds of stamping. This way, when a decal gets ruined you have some to spare. Also, creating them on the backing mat means you don't have to leave it on a stamper, which makes it easier and faster to create the decals. I used Glam Polish Get Otter Here!, Glam Polish Mermaid For Me and Glam Polish Sealiest Thing I’ve Ever Heard to fill in the decals, but unfortunately the difference between the pink and lilac shade doesn't really show up.
While letting the decals dry, I used a coat of Cirque Colors Memento Mori on both my index and middle finger, and used 2 coats of Glam Polish I'm Shore You Did on my ring and pinky. I apply my decals directly to the nail, without any extra layer of polish or topcoat - I find that when you don't let them dry too long they are still a bit sticky and flexible. Clean up your nails like you usually would after clipping the excess and you have your mermaid nails all done! Oh wait, except for topcoat, don't forget topcoat ;-).
Tell me, how do you like these mermaid nails? Have you ever tried stamping decals? Tell me in the comments!
