Review - Sunny's Body Products $20 Pick Your Own Sampler

Hi loves! Today no nailpolish, but nail care products to read about! Every once in a while, I'd read a review on Sunny's Body products over at The PolishAholic. Every time I would be amazed by the cute packaging and the fact that Sunny's Body products are available in almost 400 different scents!

Yup, close to 400 scents are available for you to choose from.

While trying to decide which products I wanted to try, I found out you can pick your own sampler pack for just $20. The only restriction you have is that you can't pick more than 2 of the same item and you can only choose from selected items.

Packaging and shipping
Since I am always in need of good cuticle oils, I decided to go with 2 intensive therapy oils (mango/mandarin & cucumber/melon), 2 cuticle oils (rain & sea salt/rice flower), the sugar scrub (black current tea) and the miracle balm (bahama berry melon). The intensive therapy oil come with a little dropper, the regular oils are roller ball containers. The sugar scrub is in a jar, a little spoon is included. Being a balm, the miracle balm is in a container and you can rub your finger on the surface to pick up some product. Since I like my oils in those brush applicator clicky pens, I grabbed a few from eBay and just poured some intensive therapy oil in them :-).

As you can see in my picture, each item is shipped with teflon tape around the caps. This means you are almost certain it won't leak or spill before it gets to you. Obviously since the oils come in glass containers, it could always break, but Sanaz wraps everything in bubble wrap and the packaging felt nice and sturdy. My order was placed on May 3th, it shipped by May 9th. This is completely in line with the turn around time mentioned in the webshop.

I'm from the Netherlands and for my order the shipping was $7. Very reasonable I think!

Formula
The first thing I noticed when trying these products, are the lovely scents. Obviously I read the descriptions and went with stuff I thought I'd like, but while the scent on each product is strong, it isn't fake or cheap smelling. Everything smells just like the description! My favorite scent of this order is the cucumber/melon - so fresh and not overpowering at all.

The intensive therapy oil (15 ml, full size) is a heavier oil, but still fluid on your skin - it doesn't sit where you place it, so rubbing it in is required to avoid oil dripping from your hands. It does feel more greasy and moisturizing, where as the cuticle oil (10 ml, full size) is a lighter formulation and easier to use during the day.

Ingredients (intensive therapy oil): Argan oil, coconut oil, flax seed oil, apricot kernel oil, hazelnut oil, rosehip seed oil, fragrance.
Ingredients (cuticle oil): Sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, vitamin e oil, fragrance.

Now I never used a hand scrub (1 oz, full size is 2 oz) before, but this one got me hooked. I especially like to use it when I removed a stubborn polish. I take out a little scoop and rub it on my dry hands, paying some extra attention to my cuticles (without being too rough!) so every last bit of flakie or glitter is removed. Then, using lukewarm water I rub away the scrub. This will leave your hands feeling silky soft because of the oils that are in this product.

Ingredients (hand scrub): Shea butter, coconut oil, sugar, purified water, avocado oil, sweet almond oil, fragrance.

Finally there's the miracle balm (1/2 oz, full size). I'm not sure yet if this product really works for me, I especially like to use it before taking of my polish. It provides a bit of a barrier it seems, this way my cuticles aren't as dried out when taking of polish. Also, because it's a balm it doesn't migrate so you can put it on and let it sit, then rub it in after a few minutes.

Ingredients (miracle balm): Shea butter, beeswax, candelilla wax, jojoba oil, coconut oil, biotin, garlic, vitamin e, fragrance.

Overall conclusion
I loved the scents, I love the oils, and I can highly recommend trying out Sunny´s Body products! The $20 sampler turned out to be a value of $37, so that´s a great deal. It´s also a nice way to try out different products, but I warn you: choosing from all the scents might be a daunting task.

  1. I had been waiting in anticipation of your review and you've convinced me to try the sampler pack. But... 400 scents, help! I can't handle that many options haha. I'll probably spend a few weeks choosing and then place an order LOL.

I got hooked after reading a review last summer from the PolishAholic! I've never tried the oils but use the miracle balms for my cuticles during the day and LOVE the hand scrub. My hands get so soft from using it. Trying to pick scents is another story though, nothing beats variety but this is almost too much (what's the diff between lavender and french lavender for instance?). Found a few that I really like though :)

  8. I've bought 3 of the seasonal boxes this year (Valentines, Spring and summer). I love the miracle balm and oils! The scents are predetermined in the boxes, so I don't have to choose. But I believe they are exclusive to the boxes, so they aren't available when each box sells out.

I really loved applying the stuff during the winter. Valentine's box is at work, spring at home downstairs and summer at home upstairs.

  19. Yay, so glad you liked the review! I was a bit worried it'd be too much text but didn't want to cut down on info, either. Did you receive your goodies yet?

  20. Aren't these products the best? I'm so happy to have found out about them :). The hand scrub is indeed amazing <3 love it so much! I was thinking that the spreadsheet she uses could use some more filter options, like if a scent is fruity, floral, food scented or earthy or something so you can pre-select more. Maybe I'll pass on that suggestion! And can you imagine she added even more scents after my review?! Lol!

  24. Glad you liked it! I was a bit worried the post might be too lengthy :-). Weirdly, Lemony Flutter does nothing for me! Actually dries out my cuticles so I never really used it.

  35. Not yet )) I spent an awful lot on polishes this month so I try to cut purchases for some time )) but I tend to spicy or citrus smells, so I'll try to pick something of this range.
