Swatches & Review // Dance Legend Eden Original Sin & Serpent Tempter

Hi loves! Another Friday, another Dance Legend swatch post ^^. This time I am showing you 2 shades from the Dance Legend Eden collection which consists of 12 sheer shades. Please note these come in mini bottles! Because of their sheer nature they are quite versatile which is why I wanted to show you how they look over both black & white. I used Cirque Colors Carpe Diem & Memento Mori for my base.

Let's take a closer look!

Dance Legend Original Sin

Dance Legend Original Sin has a pink tinted base. There's lots of multicolored iridescent glitter in there as well as larger golden flakies. This showed up so nicely over black! I might have went too quickly in adding the topper though since it streaked a bit - maybe it picked up a bit of the white? It doesn't show in photos but it was visible to me personally. One coat over both black & white, finished with topcoat.

Dance Legend Serpent Tempter has a green tinted base, and the tint is stronger on this one as you can see on the white based nails. It also didn't apply smooth enough in 1 coat so I had to use 2 to even it out. On black that's not noticable. There's some very slight duochrome action going with this one when layered over black. 2 coats over white, 1 coat over black, topped with topcoat.

Overall conclusion
While these look fun when layered over black, I doubt I'll use them again - toppers like these are easily forgotten and take some effort to apply neatly enough. The multicolored sparkle in Original Sin is really gorgeous and I love the slight duochrome popping up in Serpent Tempter.

Would you rock these on your digits? And how would you layer them? Tell me in the comments!

  4. I like how Original Sin looks, but as you say, toppers like this are really easily forgotten. I usually forget I have them in my stash, anyway! LOL

  5. Original Sin looks really pretty over black, but I never buy polishes like these. They usually don't catch my attention.

  6. I have two of these I need to re-swatch for DL because in the end I wasn't happy with my swatches. I found them to be patchy and look a little uneven, but perhaps I didn't wait long enough for them to dry. They are pretty though and will add something special to a regular creme swatch in the future. You're swatches of them look lovely. I like Original Sin over the dark base.

  7. I think you summed it up really well. While these look beautiful, toppers are easily forgotten and I know I won't be using these anymore either after swatching. We're spoiled since we are used to much more exciting things haha!

  9. They look really awesome over black, but I agree that those types of toppers don't wow me much anymore. You showcased them beautifully though!

I understand, it's easy to forget about these toppers, although in some nail arts, they can come in handy! But yes, there are so many special polishes out there, that these seem plain! Although I wouldn't have thought so a few years ago, lol!
