Swatches & Review // Pahlish July Duo Mirror Images

Hi loves! I'm so excited to share these swatches with you today ^^. When I reviewed some Pahlish polishes a while back I got an e-mail from Shannon asking me if I wanted to swatch her July releases. Uhm, YES PLEASE! I've been interested in this brand for a while now and well, the greatest compliment is when someone loves the swatches you did and wants you to do some more. The first shades I am showing you are part of the Pahlish July Duo called Mirror Images. This is inspired by The Postal Service song called Such Great Heights. Actually one of my favorite songs in the whole world!

So yeah, I'm crazy in love with this set - let's see if you are as well!

Every month Pahlish releases a duo, consisting of a base and topper that look great when combined. Lately the toppers have been this holo/flakie type of polishes and this particular one is very pretty! But let's start with the base, shall we?

Pahlish Such Great Heights is a bright periwinkle blue cream with a dash of holo. Please note I take my pictures under artificial lighting and periwinkle shades can be true chameleons - they always look much more lilac/lavender on me and so does this shade. The formula is quite opaque and on the thick side, but in a good way. It goes exactly there where you want it and dries down smooth. Because I was using the topper for the next swatches I didn't use topcoat. Shown are 2 coats.

Pahlish Freckles In Our Eyes is a linear holographic topper with a mix of gold, purple, and violet flakes. It's so delicate and pretty! Application was great, there was a nice amount of flakies on the brush without having to work for it and the formula spread well and even so you don't have any weird spots. I used 1 coat over Such Great Heights and topped with topcoat.

Overall conclusion
This is my first Pahlish monthly duo but I can see why they are so popular. The combination of shades is perfect and I love the inspiration behind this specific set! Also, the monthly duos are sold for $16 whereas single shades retail for $11 per bottle. Very wallet friendly! The formula on Such Great Heights is of a perfect creamy consistency, and obviously Freckles In Our Eyes isn't only stunning combined with its sibbling, it'll also look great over other shades!

Normally Pahlish has restocks every Sunday but for now the next one is July 26th. That's also probably the last chance to grab this set!

What do you think of this duo? Do you like it? Tell me in the comments!
Pahlish is a US based indie with regular restocks and reasonable international shipping rates. You can find more info in the webshop!

Great heights is a gorgeous polish. I bet the topper would look real good over a light turquoise, like having jewelry on your nails.

  17. I usually put down a large plastic tablecloth, so that any "spray" goes onto there. And try and aim a bit!
