Nail art // Dress-inspired abstract nails using Cirque Colors Hustle

Hi loves! Today I have a super fun look to share with you, I'm actually quite proud how it came out. Last week my best friend ♥ came over for dinner together with her husband and 2 kids, and she was wearing the cutest dress. I'm having a slight obsession with yellow tones lately and the pattern seemed like something I could recreate on my nails. Lucky me, I just bought Cirque Colors Hustle the other day from PrettyPolish and it seemed like a perfect shade to create this look!

Let's take a closer look ^^.

It wasn't all that difficult to create this look, here's what I did. I painted the nails I wanted to have the pattern with Cirque Colors Carpe Diem. All other nails were painted with 2 easy coats of Cirque Colors Hustle. After the white base dried a bit, I tore of tiny pieces of my cosmetic sponge and grabbed a pair of tweezers. Holding the bit of sponge with my tweezers, I dabbed on random splotches of Hustle. Then I went back in using Cirque Colors Page Six and Cirque Colors Memento Mori. Both shades were also used for the accent dots on my other nails. Using a black striper I added a single line (mimicking the the piping on the dress sleeves, not really visible in the product pictures). Can I say I was SO proud of those lines :-D? I never ever freehand shit and well, they came out quite even and straight so I was happy, lol!

Using a nice thick layer of topcoat the look was finished, and while the dress had more visible "dots", I think it's still a nice resemblance of the pattern! And while I'm usually not that creative, I think this is a great abstract look even without the dress as a reference.

Do you ever recreate looks based on fabric patterns? What is your favorite source for inspiration? Tell me in the comments!
