Swatches & Review // A-England To Emily Bronte collection

Hi loves! Sorry for not posting last week on Friday, but I was kinda busy.. being in Paris and all ;-). I gifted my best friend a weekend to Paris to celebrate the fact she finished her study just before the summer, and since I had never been to Paris before it was a great gift for me as well ^^. I had a blast, it is such a beautiful city with gorgeous architecture, lovely food and drinks and so many gorgeous historical sites to visit. Now, without me blabbering on about citytrips, let's take a closer look at what you came here for: the A-England To Emily Bronte collection! These are available at PrettyPolish

A-England Cathy

A-England Heathcliff

A-England Let Me In

A-England Spirit of the Moors

A-England Wuthering Heights

Doesn't that look promising?

As with most A-England collections, the To Emily Bronte collection consists of 5 shades. There are the classic creamy A-England holo's, but there is also the addition of a jelly-based glitter. Quite unique and different! The formula was a bit inconsistent so I'll add some info about it with each shade.

A-England Cathy

A-England Cathy

A-England Cathy is a ghostly, eerie white grey holo with an illusory flash lilac and of blue. A true white holo is nearly impossible - the grey tone of the holographic pigment always tints the base a bit. Because of the added lilac and blue sparkles, Cathy pulls a bit lilac on me, which I don't mind. The subtle sparkle is gorgeous and the formula was really good, 2 easy coats were all I needed. Finished with topcoat.

A-England Heathcliff

A-England Heathcliff

A-England Heathcliff is a subtle glitter on a black base. Well, that's the A-England description, I certainly wouldn't call it subtle. It's not too much in your face either though, compared to some glitterbombs I have tried in the past, but it's definitely a GLITTER polish! The formula wasn't the easiest to work with. A thick and gloopy base, but luckily the glitter didn't clump and with 3 coats I had perfect coverage. This dries gritty so use an extra layer of topcoat or add some Gelous before you topcoat, and you'll be fine.

A-England Let Me In

A-England Let Me In

A-England Let Me In is a dark red berry holo full of depth and passion. Oh yes, these shades are always right up my alley! I love how this isn't too dark and the sparkle adds a visual interest. Also, it has that perfect A-England formula that is pigmented, smooth and buttery in application. I used 2 coats and finished with topcoat.

A-England Spirit of the Moors

A-England Spirit of the Moors

A-England Spirit of the Moors is a bright blue holo revealing at times tiny surprising green lights. It captured a little too bright unfortunately, but you'll get the vibe ;-). Being such a bright blue, it had the most awful skunk smell I ever experienced in a blue polish. If you are sensitive to smells please be aware of that! The formula was a tad sheer and patchy at first but still fully covered in 2 coats, finished with topcoat.

A-England Wuthering Heights

A-England Wuthering Heights

A-England Wuthering Heights is a soft medium grey mauve holo wrapping multiple reflections. A bit of a chameleon this is, at times looking more purple, but in different lighting being a true grey. It;s definitely an interesting color! Again, this has that typical creamy and smooth A-England formula that I love so much, and th polish practically applied itself in 2 coats. Finished with topcoat.

Overall conclusion
While not every polish has the best formula, I still love this collection. There are some gorgeous colors and finishes included and I think it's fun to see a glitter included! My favorites are Cathy and Let Me In.
