Hi loves! It's that time of the month again (no, not that time ;-)) where the girls from Paint All The Nails get together and create pretty nail art! This months theme is Marble which is very open to interpretation. I am so excited to see what everyone came up with.
Want to know what I did for this theme?
That's right, I went with a stamping marble! While I certainly thought of a watermarble, I just didn't want to spend a lot of time and get frustrated since my weekends have been quite busy, so I decided to take the easy route and do something I know will come out great every time.
Stamping marbles are incredibly easy, all you need are some contrasting yet complimenting colors and a large squishy stamper (and preferably some liquid latex to protect your fingers as well) and you are good to go. For my stamping marble I used the following 3 colors: OPI Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh? which is a sandy beige (also used this on my index and as a base for the marble), Sinful Colors In The Mist which is a dusty greyish green with lots of blue tones (also used on my pinky) and OPI Uh-Oh Roll Down The Window which is a medium army green. I simply added some dots of all 3 shades to my stamper and smudged them on my nails, rotating the stamper a bit to blend the colors nicely. It creates such a perfect backdrop for stamping! The plate I used is Bundle Monster BM-XL202 from the Blogger Collaboration set I showed yesterday.
I wanted something to tie my index and pinky nail together and I remembered I had 2 beautiful V-shaped studs laying around from Born Pretty Store. These are sold as a pair and are currently on sale for $0,99! Before putting them on my nail I used a generous layer of topcoat, waited a bit and then simply put them where I wanted them to be. They are hollow so they'll "absorb" some of the topcoat. Even better: when taking of my polish I cleaned the studs and they are now ready to be used again.
What do you think of my marble interpretation? And what would you have done for this theme? Tell me in the comments!
