Swatches & Review // Various LilypadLacquer shades

Hi loves! Today I have a fun random swatch post featuring 8 different shades from LilypadLacquer. I have featured this brand before but this time I got a sampling from the United States stockist Color4Nails, I had no idea which shades to expect so it was a fun surprise!

Want to see more of those shades?

Color4Nails is a United States based stockist that sells a variety of brands and in turn a lot of the brands produce exclusives for Color4Nails as well. 3 of the shades I am showing you today are exclusives and will be marked* so you know which ones they are :-).

LilypadLacquer Break The Rules

LilypadLacquer Break The Rules

LilypadLacquer Break The Rules* has a violet/teal base color shifting shade with multichrome and colorshifting flakies. The base was extremely sheer, which is a shame because it does build up to a nice color. I just wish it didn't need 4 coats... To be fair, it did apply thin and easy, but still.

LilypadLacquer Glory

LilypadLacquer Glory consist of multicoloured, multichrome, colourshifting flakies. Based on the swatch in the webshop, it can be build up to opacity, but I chose to layer it over a creme base. I always love looking at all the bits and pieces with polishes like these! It applied evenly and easy.

LilypadLacquer Grit

LilypadLacquer Grit also consists of multicoloured, multichrome, colourshifting flakies. Again, I chose to layer it over a creme base because that's just how I like my flakies, but it's quite covering so building it up must work as well.

LilypadLacquer Guilty Pleasures

LilypadLacquer Guilty Pleasures* is a green/copper color shifting shade with multichrome and colorshifting flakies. One of my favorites! The green shade is very rich and the coppery flash is a great twist. There seem to be dark blue flakies as well. Again, quite sheer and I needed 3 coats for proper opacity.

LilypadLacquer Kiss Kiss

LilypadLacquer Kiss Kiss is a bright pink base with iridescent, colourshifting flakies and blue shimmer. I think the pairing of a bright pink base with blue shimmer is quite classic, but the almost glassflecked appearance on this shade is a unique take on the classic formula. The formula was on the sheer side and I needed 3 coats.

LilypadLacquer Love Me or Leave Me

LilypadLacquer Love Me or Leave Me

LilypadLacquer Love Me or Leave Me* is a brown/red base color shifting shade with multichrome and colorshifting flakies. This was difficult to capture, the shimmer is more "part of the polish" if that makes sense? Sometimes my camera focuses to heavily on the shimmer making it seem like the base is really sheer, and while it was sheer, it didn't look as see-through as it appears here. The flakies either didn't want to come out as easy or they don't shine through the shimmery base, I'm not sure. I used 3 coats for opacity.

LilypadLacquer Roasted

LilypadLacquer Roasted is a hazelnut brown crème holo with multicoloured flakies and brownish/golden sheen. Such a chameleon! Depending on the light this looks lighter or more brown, even in my pictures you can see how it shifts a bit. The copper flakies are gorgeous and the holographic finish is perfection. I used 3 coats for opacity,

LilypadLacquer Victorious is a glowy violet purple with a holographic finish. This one had the best formula of all shades, 2 coats were all I needed. The holographic finish is very vibrant as well.

Overall conclusion
While a few shades were a bit too sheer for my personal preference, there are a lot of unique polishes here. My favorites are Roasted (because kinda neutral and coppery bits) and Guilty Pleasures (because vibrant green and coppery bits). The application was fine on all of these shades, no issues there.
