Chickettes, who's also a stockist for them).
If you are looking for a kit to start doing your own gel polish manicures, this review is for you!
Inside the compact box the Starter Kit comes in are a ton of goodies: the Pink Gellac LED lamp which fits 4 nails and is the perfect size to sit on my desk, Pink Gellac Base2 15 ml, Pink Gellac Ultra Shine top coat 15 ml, Pink Gellac Tropical Pink 15 ml, a 50 ml nail cleaner, 20 lint free wipes, 10 remover pockets, a 240-180 grit nail file, and an orange woodstick. Also included is a very clear instruction manual in English, Dutch, French and German.
Did you know Pink Gellac just recently launched their UK webshop as well?
For gel manicures it's important to follow the instructions clearly, or you might end up with chipping or peeling. Avoiding water for up to an hour before application will help with the adhering, as well as prepping the nail carefully (again, full instructions are included and very thorough).
Like I said, everything you need to get started on your own at-home gel mani's! I plugged in my light and turned it on with the button on the back. The light always stays on for 60 seconds and gives a indication beep at 30 seconds. Because the base should only be cured for 15 seconds it's smart to keep a timer close during application.
The application of the color was SO easy. This might be the nicest gel-formula I've tried so far. It's fluid, opaque and stays where you put it. Also didn't shrink on the tips! Both Tropical Pink (shown first) and Nude Beige (shown second) needed 2 coats to be opaque. Another thing I love is that the Pink Gellac Ultra Shine top coat is a no-wipe top, so you don't need to use your cleanser to take away a sticky layer - there simply is no sticky layer :-).
I really love both these colors and the Pink Gellac Starter Kit, it's a great set to get started with your own at-home gel manicures and is priced very reasonably. The quality of all the products feels great and the formula is easy to work with. Also love the size of the bottles, 15 ml is a whole lot of polish to play with!
